I am still figuring out which blue chip to put the $300k . Need to secure the next 20 years $11k annually for old age.

If that $300k is being spread over 20 years, indeed can get $15k per year but must go by then.

I share with you the best advice I received from my towkay boss: Around 300k invested in singapore dividend paying blue-chip stocks will give you annual dividend of about 11k.

If you start around age 45, by the time you hit 55, the total earned in dividends cash is more than the Basic Retirement Sum. That is cash in your pocket, enjoyed from age 55, without having to wait till 65.

Without having to agitate and try to lobby opposition political parties to take up your cause.

It is what you have done with the time given to you. If you are pessimistic, envious and toxic in thoughts, it will come out in words. Words become actions. Actions become habits. Habits determine your character and destiny.

Your towkay boss is right.

Can ask govt to return my CPF so I can buy 300k of blue chip stocks? 11k dividend for 300k investment is a 3.7% return and that's ignoring the capital gain. CPF only give me 2.5%!

With all due respect Bro

If between 30 - 40 yrs of age, without at least $300k liquidity for investment purposes, would be quite sad.

Foreigners are flocking here becos its not difficult for them to do so to make a living

No lei....maybe i am in the lower percentile of Singaporeans..

Maybe 10 years later I will have 300k.

I won't hit 55 in 10 years leh....

Anyway, can only say I can possibly have 300k in 10 years, but how can I say if I will hit min sum or not when no one knows how much that will be? One stroke of the pen and min sum can be 500k already and can forget about seeing you cpf money other than in the statement.

Problem is it's all liquid and not sure if I should put it under the pillow or inside the new Milo tin box  (after I finish the Milo of course).

Thats simply a example of how prices have escalated

To be fair, for your age, the roof over your head must already be fully paid or covered, right.
