I stopped eating them when I find that their standard has dropped. It doesn't make any sense to go so far for something that's no longer that tasty. Yes, the chicken wings are no longer good as before.... [thumbsdown]

Punggol Nasi Lemak. People say that they are expensive, but taxi driver also charges midnight charges right? As long food quality is not undermine, I actually don't mind paying a little bit more for it.

Turbocharged

No need to travel all the way.

If u stay in the west, go for boon Lay power nasi lemak.

Another one is the adam road hawker centre- number 1 stall.

I think the no 2 stall is better.

10 over yrs ago,Hup Lee nasi lemak in Chong Pang was thought to be best in SG. [thumbsup]

Their eventual expansion to 70 over stall's idea was partially started by me. [grin]

Wonder wats their standard now.

I find this stall better than chong pang nasi lemak. Many Hup Lee stall in SG but this was the best. Every dish is so fresh and well cooked.

Recently they renovate their stall and it seems they change management, now become one of the worse nasi lemak in SG, worse than those cook by PRC. Rice is hard, not fragrant, chicken wing not as crispy and expensive. Very disappointed, no more good nasi lemak in yishun... [bigcry]

It was one of the 1st stores.

Sad to hear it becomes so.

Anyway by now Ladyboss's son should be quite rich lah.

Who would expect a nasi lemak stall holder to own & stay in landed property?

Maybe you could try Hup Lee at YS st 11,blk 156.Operated by his uncle.

Their business is very good, long q everyday, 2-3 person serving customers and still will q. From their sales rate, really can stay landed, I've no doubt. Should be able to retire and eat a few generations by now.

I will try blk 156, hopefully the good old taste is still there. Love the rice, chicken wing and chilli. Even their mee rebus is good. [thumbsup]

i totally agree, last tie i always buy from there since 10 years ago.

but in the last 3 year, thier food standerd drop alot, and nowadyas, i prefer to buy from pungol nas at tanjong katong.

it taste much better than chong pang.

and yes the rice, cilli sauce, and chicken wing is no where near last time.

so now i only go to the beancurd place beside to buy the tao hua. which is so delicious haha

Actually pungol nasi lemak also has a chain of stores.

Including one at Pungol Field, one at Toh Guan.

Their drop in standard is mainly due to the workers they employ.

No tat they lost their recipe.
