Respect the Chile authorites and their ppl there trying all means to rescue the miners, and they never give up. [thumbsup][thumbsup][thumbsup]

I hope Singapore will learn a lesson from them... we must never give up & avoid covering "big hole" with cement and pushing blames.

currently how many holes???

In the Chile case, they were very lucky to have many things going well for them on the first try. Everything worked as intended the first time, e.g. the first rescue tunnel they dug, the first capsule they built. Although they were also prepared with backups.

Foreign experts and equipment were quickly brought in, regardless of the extra cost.

The miners are also very lucky to be working in Chile, and not China!! [sweatdrop]

In singapore, ppl will blame the gahment for spending so much money to rescue the miners when it the money could be better used to upgrade their HDB flat.

Ppl will oso blame FT for wasting the gahmen's money to rescue them when the money could be better used to top up their CPF accts.

Ppl will oso blame the rescuers for taking so long and set up an online petition to condemn SCDF and demand some scholar to step down.

Ppl will oso blame the TV stations for spending so much airtime on the rescue coverage and eating into their channel 8 variety show.

And some boliao Stomper would take picture and blame the emergency vehicles for not displaying parking coupon at the rescue site.

Been following this rescue operation daily and was delighted to see the operation is a success...

Let's not forget our own rescue effort overseas too...during the Tsunami and earthquake...

China a lot of such mining accidents, most probably not economy to rescue? Shareholder or stakeholder more important?

nos of miners economy life value VS rescue cost, work delay, goods delay, customer cancel order etc.

That's why just buried everything, every issues, with cement, give a sweeping statement, & move on.
