Heard MBP will get a major upgrade in April next year - no optical drive and SSD for all models.

 

The price will also get a big upgrade

A large capacity SSD will really jack up the costs

it depends on your filesystem on yr stick or drive. HFS+ or FAT or NTFS. if u format the HDD as NTFS through windows 7, nope, osx cannot write to it but can read it. etc.

 

Mmm. I presume HFS+ = OS X?

 

If using FAT on the stick/drive, will I be able to read/write to it on both system? Converting camp maybe.

Yes you can write on both but FAT has a limit of max 4gb per file.

 

Alternatively you may wish to try (i have no idea about this):

install NTFS3G & macfuse (both FOC) to your mac and voila! u can format and write NTFS to any HDD or thumbdrive.

Yeah but what would the difference between MBP 13" and MBA 13"?? Maybe will merge into one model, so leaving only 15" and 17" MBP.
