Kar_lover Supercharged April 5, 2011 Share April 5, 2011 I think in terms of specs there is not THAT big a difference, so i tink u just see which design (inside and out) u prefer and also whether u prefer/not prefer C&C service, etc. For me, cruze looks bigger/bulkier while forte looks smaller/sleeker. So just choose the car YOU prefer and go for it.

Vios73 1st Gear April 5, 2011 Share April 5, 2011 My vote goes to Forte. Efficient engine + 6-speed gearbox (good FC) and better looker (design).

Abachee 2nd Gear April 5, 2011 Share April 5, 2011 Dun forget the new 2011 Avante coming in June & it think its going to made both Cruze & Forte run for their money. Heard from the SE from Komoco tat they have already start filling up orders even there is no car available to see or test drive the unit. Guess its going to be a Hot cake when the car is offically launch....

Abachee 2nd Gear April 5, 2011 Share April 5, 2011 Well, this is wat I heard from him over the the phone on weekend when I was shopping for a 1.6L car. Did managed to see Cruze, Corolla Altis and Honda Civic and was quite impressed with Altis overall car but not the price packaged. May paid a visit to Vollswagon showroom soon since there is nothing to see at Komoco.
Grimicer Clutched April 5, 2011 Share April 5, 2011 Cruze.. totally dig the look though some might find it exaggerated. Forte is a little plasticky to me.
Expertz 1st Gear April 5, 2011 Share April 5, 2011 just go lift up the bonnet of the cruze and feel how heavy it is then whenever you drive, think about how heavy it is and how many kg are you lugging around
Eugn86 3rd Gear April 5, 2011 Share April 5, 2011 just go lift up the bonnet of the cruze and feel how heavy it is then whenever you drive, think about how heavy it is and how many kg are you lugging around Then when you crash, you will be wishing for more of those high-density steel to cushion the impact... Cruze is based on the Opel Astra platform... thicker hence stronger steel frame... Which is why I am driving a Conti rather than a Jap. The feeling is different. Cruze is amazingly strong like a tank... the Japanese and Koreans haven't reach that kind of solidity yet.
Vooth 2nd Gear April 5, 2011 Share April 5, 2011 You are aware of course that the cruze is assembled in S.korea, amongst other places....
Eugn86 3rd Gear April 5, 2011 Share April 5, 2011 You are aware of course that the cruze is assembled in S.korea, amongst other places.... Yes it is. Platform is still from Opel Astra and this car (Cruze) has performed very well in euroncap. Euroncap doesn't give the full story though because in real life, there is more to just crashing in a controlled environment. The Europeans have a longer history in car building and no matter what, my vote still goes to them. But generally, cars today are much safer and the Forte is still a safe car. Would have better performance too because of its lighter body and more rev-happy engine. But Cruze now comes with the build-in navigation system cum multimedia center and I find it a nice touch to the car. At the end of the day, it boils down to personal preference. I would prefer the Cruze to come with the turbocharged engine though because that chassis is a gem and the engine doesn't do justice to it.

Comes with racing stripes too. ↡ Advertisement
