on both the 2.3 and 2.0 ecoboost

went for test drive and i think it's a good buy.

the space is right, the handling is good and the power is relatively acceptable for a 2.0T.

the gb comes with 6DSG, full of gadgets and plenty of airbags.

imo, the only down side is the branding.

if you are not a brand whore, this car is definitely a good buy. ;-)

of course as much as i try to appreciate the car...i think its more for a family man....

but for the supposed price of 140 to 150k i think there are more models to choose from

by the way are the trim levels the same for the 2.3 and 2.0T?

the 2.3L is the older version while the 2.0T is the ecoboost thingy.

it comes with DRL, DSG gb, etc.

the 2.0T is more tempting to get, not the 2.3L one.

but like i had mentioned before, for the price tag, you can easily get other car makers with better branding.

so it's up to you whether you are into branding or technology.~

Did a test drive, the 2.0T handling is very good.

But I don't like its interior, very cheapo.

Also, they did not bring the top of the range Titanium X into Singapore. Therefore is no keyless entry (which is now standard for new cars in the same price range).

got to agreed with you.

the interior especially the steering wheel looks cheapo.

i believe people get this Ecoboost mainly for the technology. :-)

well i can say the car is relatively expensive for about 150k....if a single working adult can get such a car id say he is good...but my bro told me he is sharing with his wife so his wife can drive the automatic trans car.....

but yea the pricing is really on the high side for about 150k.....

anyway quite surprised he got such a car also...becos after i switched mine he switched his..... [laugh]

quite happy for him anyway

and thanks for the opinions

comparing apple to apple.. for new cars.. what car better than this? conti with full array of airbags, lower rd tax yet high power. 5 yr warranty.

The Mondeo 2.0Ecoboost is picking up sales locally. Been seeing a few on the roads lately.

$150k is the same price as a Volvo S60 1.6T. In that sense, the Mondeo does represent quite VFM. =)

Neutral Newbie

Volvo S60 is a smaller car.

Ford mondeo omv pretty low considering 150k price tag, servicing also not the best reputation.

Not sure if can get merc e-class or 5 series for 150k. i think not.

Are you sure?

The S60 T5 costs in excess of $180k you know?

Anyways, the S60 1.6T advertised at $150k comes with T&C with financing. Normal list price is around $165k.

I'd rather save my money and have myself a much larger Mondeo, the size of an S80. Bearing in mind the S80 is a 5yrs old car now, with new engines introduced this year.

Not a badge whore, so mondeo for me. If i were a badge whore i'll get a pre-owned 523i. If i were a whore, anything on 4 wheels will do.
