Roughly, Yellow = Elites, Conservative Monarchists. Red = Thaksin, Peasants, Workers, Pro-Reform, ..

hmm so we got more elites in SG , about 60 percent , otherwise PAP will be gone last GE lor ?

That ApShit was voted out because out of touch with the real world , sound like PAP too .

He had the mandate of the monarchy and the military, but not mandate of the people. Thaksin and his allies have always been winning elections, but first there was a military coup but his allies continue to win elections, and the supreme court declared the party is illegal. They formed a new party, and continue to win elections but the new leaders (incl. a celebrity chef who came to Singapore to visit our wet market) were again removed from office on corruption charges . Allowing Abhisit to move up through the support of the coalition of opposition parties.

Not quite the same as PAP, since there are ~60% who still votes for PAP. Abhisit _was_ the opposition minority.

you are right, no matter who thaksin nominate or watever party his supporters form to contest, they were still winning the election, just that the yellow shirts refused to give in and insist on all this legal loopholes to vote in their own PM.

Right. Its a complicated and messy scenario because you have powers which supports a minority party not supported by the majority electorate. Thailand is a constitutional monarchy with the monarchy still having a strong influence on the people.

If one day, we have independent powers that supports the 40% opposition here, we could be in the same mess. But unlikely in a parliamentary system since the cabinet is also made up of MPs from majority party, and chief justice is also nominated by the PM, our head of state has no powers or influence over the people.
