Sore throat is expected becos of the endoscope being inserted. Keep it moist with frequent sips of water or suck lozenges.

Abd discomfort is usually due to air being insufflated to obtain better visualisation of the intestines. The distended feeling should resolve with the passing of gas within 24hrs. If it remains or worsens, seek help.

Abdominal discomfort or pain and throat pain should resolve 1-3 days after the scope ah?

For days, my stomach had a very mild pain or discomfort. Can feel the pain is localize to a spot. The doc did told me he took a small tissue sample for analysis.

For throat, no problem. I think the doc did warm me of throat pain or discomfort.

Your stomach had mild pain because doctor took some tissue sample? If not your stomach should not feel pain?

Length of Throat discomfort varies in individuals.

However, abdominal discomfort due to gaseous distension should be relieved within a day. If it persists, the problem could be due to your pre existing health condition or as a result of the endoscopy (which your Dr should have explained to u prior to the procedure).

I guess doctor will tell you if experience mild abdominal pain and throat pain should not be over worry, and it should go away after a few days. Unless it is very painful then need to worry.

That was my assumption. I think it went away in about a week. The pain was very mild, didn't disruption my lifestyle. If I am busy, I wouldn't have notice it.

If went away within a week still ok la. Esp the pain is mild. Many times it also all in the mind, if you always think about it or worry, anything also could feel like very serious.

I did the gastroscopy awake.

When the doc did the sample tissue removal and spraying of water, I did not feel anything at all.

Yes. I saw my gut at the screen while the procedure was going on.

You should consider sleeping on a wedge pillow and take a proton pump inhibiter before meals. I take a mild one called Pariet (20mg) once in a while when it acts up

What's the pariet for? I was only given a numbing spray in my mouth before the scope ... Was salivating like a dog the whole time I was on the bed.

The pariet is to control acid reflux, not related to endoscopy sorry. It’s a proton pump inhibiter telling the stomach to produce less stomach acid.
