Quite often saw 'police car' use normal plate escort 'cd' or 'q' plate

this 'police' car so far i saw only volvo xc90 or land rover freelander 2 with blue-red light + police sign inside the behind window car.

what i keep thinking, is this real police car, why:

- use normal plate, instead q plate?

- the blue-red light inside the behind window car instead outside top roof?

- the police sticker also inside window, not at body of car.

and of course, the driver always have pole position in need for speed/ f1 / racing ps3/ xbox games :D

All in the name of security. Maybe they might be slightly paranoid but in today's world, you can never be too safe. And there are others that take adavantage of the situation. I have heard some stories of nasty incidents in Malaysia with regards to VIP convoys. Have you seen how the convoys bashes through traffic in Iraq? Some APCs literally ran over some civilian cars because they cannot afford to stop.

U can notice the XC90, LandR and PM's entourage along Clemenceau Ave, Orchard rd & Rocharlie dr daily, Grange and Napier rd are a common sight,

XC & LR will have their display sign, of, " Stay Clear & Give way flashing " on back of the vehicle.

Do give way, they even have private car driving on side by side, U do not notice them, I do !

i really dont mind if its a real situation and a real police car but to put it on a civilian car and used it so that others will give way...!! can they be charged for impersonating a police vehicle?

of course i give a way to that car.

but let discuss about what should be the correct way:

1. not confusing.

why not use official police car (plate + accessories)?

if the main purpose to blend and low profile (say to attempt bad thing to the main car), how many % the target achieve that this current situation?

did they think most people do not know if that normal car actually police inside?

2. not abuse the power and rule.

like some bro mention, most of this car look like all the road belong to them.

is this correct way, is not should be TP with their uniform handle to clear the road?

3. is guide/ rule to give away that 'police' car available in theory test for driving license?

if depend on common/ public sense, is this announce/ inform in secondary/ higher school?

just want make road user better understanding :)

Actually, they are on real duties and real police. Protecting VIPs. Every time a VIP goes on the road, the danger is real. I think movement on public road is about the most high risk detail for any VIP escort. Stopping will be an invitation to trouble thats why they have to keep moving.

Neutral Newbie

The volvo will drive in between two lanes.... So be very careful....

And they tailgate the VVIP car very closely so never try to cut in front of them. [laugh]

Watching TMJ escort in JB is more fun - one time had his Mustang go past us *growl growl* the sound was SWEEEEEEEE.

Then a whole convoy of "normal" cars - with a Vitara last.

i horned at police car even those XC90, no big deal, they are not the king of the road! well, unless they sound their siren and on official business, than llst.

if they road hog or cut my lane dangerously i horn, nothing wrong.

once i horn at a XC90 for cutting into my lane and not signaling, the bugger stare at me, i bo chap.
