Nzy Twincharged July 28, 2011 Share July 28, 2011 You can try those tar remover. Might work. But I think using polish would be the easiest and most effective. After that can try to apply sealant to that area also when you applying sealant for your car. That should make it harder for the soot to stick to the paint. Not sure soot is closer to which one. But normally I use tar remover to remove anything that is sticky. Like after removing the badges on a car those residue can be removed with tar remover also. Fcuktion Neutral Newbie August 1, 2011 Share August 1, 2011 A simple polish will remove the stains. I usually go for stuff like Poli seal.
5936 1st Gear August 1, 2011 Share August 1, 2011 Put aluminium or stainless steel patch around the fender. Or find an elbowed exhaust tip to divert exhaust gas to towards ground.
