Seeking Help from Inexperienced Driver

Hi All, seeking some advise on the jerking/ juddering problem during gear 1 move off or idle state. This has in fact cause my FC to suffer badly by about 80km.

I am driving a normal honda city 4g recently done 80k servicing last say 2 months. Things that i have done:

1. Engine Oil Change

2. Engine Oil Filter

3. All Spark Plugs

4. CVTF Gear Box Oil

5. Fuel Filter(I suspected not done, not sure if this could have caused this)

I have been reading plenty of items over the internet(Forums, SHC, Fit Club, Vios etc etc) as to the root causes, and visited various workshops to identify the problem.

Summary of Conclusion by various workshops/ internet

1. Gear Box problem or oil required flushing, or change to a new type(E.g. Elf), or needed additives such as oil concentrate

2. Flywheel Problem(Internet)

3. Tension Bearing Problem(Internet)

4. Clean intake manifold + sensor.(Internet)

5. Undercarriage got some noise(WS, already checked but found no leakage)

6. Engine mounting(Traces of crack)

7. Fuel Injection System Timing Out

The repairs bills really worries me especially with the list of other potential problems it could come with.

So far i have never really done any modifications, flushing etc. Car is really in stock condition, and i would think taken care.

Really worried about doing flushing, as i have heard many horrid stories of malfunctioning due to it not being done properly. I am seriously considering to do some flushing in JB

due to the costs and exchange rates. Even considering to get parts for engine mounting, fuel filter tension bearing etc from them if it is genuinely real.

Does these problems look like i need to redo a 80km servicing once again by a reputable workshop? Or is there a place which has such

solid expertise that can really advise to resolve such problems? I have been going round and round, but not able to arrive at any concrete conclusion.

The simplest way is obviously not to drive, which i believe to be out of the question due to my work scope. Any valuable 2cents is appreciated.

I would believe that this forum has plenty of people with many years of experience in owning a car, and run into similar problems as me.

Owning a car is not easy. Besides the installment, car pars, ERP , road tx etc etc...........

Want to drive your car for long, go and change or repair whatever necessary. Some items can't be saved!

The next step is to do the same change one by one.

This week do

1) engine oil change and filter change....monitor one week.

If no improvement.

2) change spark plug and fuel filter....monitor one week.

If no improvement.

3) change the cvt transmission oil....monitor one week.

It's definitely one of these that is causing the problem.

i used to own a 17 year old car and i have less problems than this.... [laugh]

anyway i am suspecting ATF fluid....since there is juddering at gear 1 for the auto box

can try kangs automatic....

for engine oil i dont think it is the issue

bro i think u wasted money on all these

1. Engine Oil Change

2. Engine Oil Filter

3. All Spark Plugs

4. CVTF Gear Box Oil

5. Fuel Filter(I suspected not done, not sure if this could have caused this)

its definitely not fuel filter....if yr car has no problems starting up then that is not the cause....

check the gear box

my advice for u is to drive around autobay or sin ming area...ask a mechanic politely for an opinion....

Idle also juddering, that's during the warm up stage. Air con kicks in can hear, it's a little bit better.

not sure if my gear 1 is the same. I thought cars usually move up gradually in terms of gearing? Gear 1 to me means the 1st gear.

ignition cable - is this a usual problem?

Haha....I thought who wants to seek help from some inexperience driver. Realised it's some inexperience driver seeking help.

I'm guessing the CVT gearbox oil is not suited for your car. When it comes to CVT it's very specific which oil is to be used.

[laugh] sorry about the title. But funny leh, i use the recommended CVTF oil leh. So not sure why still this problem.

Btw today i just looked again at my car, so cheapo car but damn sad that so much money to be vested. The driver door also like a bit out of shape. Not crooked, but seems that after close door like the gap getting wider...

Btw has anyone tried any stockist from johor? i wonder how huge difference in pricing?

bro, try this 2 small steps first. throttle body cleaning and idle valve. if it only happens on idle or 1st gear, not likely the problems u listed.

u should try cityzen.sg

1. Gear Box problem or oil required flushing, or change to a new type(E.g. Elf), or needed additives such as oil concentrate

gb juddering..it depends if 0-1500rpm ... or 1500-2000 rpm

if judder when start is startup clutch (wear n tear)

if 1500-2000rpm juddering shall be gb problem...

2. Flywheel Problem(Internet)

possible... very jerking... u might have problem do a reverse also buit different people report differently...but cfm jerky

3. Tension Bearing Problem(Internet)

this one.. i havent heard of 1 from cityzen

4. Clean intake manifold + sensor.(Internet)

this one must find julian to clean.. or bruce...

5. Undercarriage got some noise(WS, already checked but found no leakage)

what noise?? front ??rear?? front arb crack?? suspension bushing worn??wheel bearing?? did workshop hoist up and do a wheel spin ?

6. Engine mounting(Traces of crack)

if ur ride is vtec, u wack u will hear a thud sound which is the left mounting... and use only honda / OEM which is oil type..not rubber only..

7. Fuel Injection System Timing Out

hmm... not sure.. but if ur ride is pure stock... and u r the only owner.. i think u just plug in the ob2 and check for error code!! invest in a scanguage2 reader... and this one can transfer to many other jap modem (not sure about conti/korean)

ur problem is erratic..

BTW 80k also include aircon belt change..

i just did my 80k @KM and i only change a mounting... oh man.. u got a 'lemon' [;)]
