But he had lost his cert plus somemore he is the second owner. Silver_blade Turbocharged September 15, 2011 Share September 15, 2011 By right your friend have to get it re-certified by LTA after he got it + proper documentation to prove that the exhaust is mean for his car make and model. When he get the cert, he did not go changed the ownership to be his car. Now the problem is that where to get a document to prove that the exhaust is legal without cert? He also do not have any contact with the previous owner anymore as he is an expat who had long ago left singapore. Best to go for the check first. If they need you to re-certify, they will tell you which dealer to go to to obtain the letter. They might need the transfer cert of the car and owner identification, best to prepare these stuff before going down. My tte exhaust was bought from another owner and installed on my ride. Went for inspection and they told me to go get the letter from trd sportivo. Paid the guy around 80$ to write the letter and bring it to LTA which charged me another nominal fee to get it certified. As for your friends case, just go for the lta check first. If pass then good, if not just go to the dealer for letter. LTA will tell you where to go. Thank bro for the info :) Here is another question :) Assuming that he go for the inspection n being asked for the cert which my fre can't produce. Will they inform LTA n issue him a fine? Izzit possible to consult them by calling their hotline before going down n ask them for the workshop name to get the letter. Of coz fuji exhaust is legal for GD1 but my fre did not change his detail to be his car plate number. Reason being is to get the document to prove to the LTA officer when being stop on the road . If i self import the exhaust, and install in the car, can go to LTA to seek their approval? anyone know what is the process to get exhaust approved? Zafchen Neutral Newbie September 16, 2011 Share September 16, 2011 Get this info from LTA, had bough a 2nd hand car which is fitted with LTA approve exhaust, but since i have retain my reg number and put it in my new ride, LTA say as long you got document that prove that this car is previously holding the same reg number as the one from the Exhaust Cert. You are safe and no need to go LTA to update. Thing needed are 1) Letter to prove your Reg Number Retaintion 2) Letter from LTA that proof you are new owner and holding a new reg number 3) Exhaust Cert Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
