Ben5266 Supercharged October 13, 2011 Share October 13, 2011 BlackBerry users across the world were exasperated Wednesday as an outage of email, messaging and Internet services on the phones spread to the U.S. and Canada and stretched into the third day for Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa. ============ This will only help Android and iOS phone. ↡ Advertisement
Happily1986 5th Gear October 13, 2011 Share October 13, 2011 A core switch was down and their backup switch failed to kick in as part of SOP. After they rectified the issue, the backlog that accumulated had to be cleared off first. Like that itself is a prelude to an end of RIM?
SLSAMG88 1st Gear October 13, 2011 Share October 13, 2011 A core switch was down and their backup switch failed to kick in as part of SOP. After they rectified the issue, the backlog that accumulated had to be cleared off first. Like that itself is a prelude to an end of RIM? Yes. A core enterprise service down for 3 days. There will be compensation claims from affected companies and a general distrust of RIMs services from now on. They were already struggling to battle against Apple and Android making inroads into their enterprise services, this might not be the final nail, but it certainly is one of those nails! I certainly agree that RIM is on the decline and their future looks pretty grim against the rosy prospects of Apple and Android. However to straightaway declare that that RIM is going to close shop is pretty far fetched if you ask me. If they can toh so easily, they wouldn't be who they are today. They still have some resilience left. How much i don't know.
