Hope to get some ideas

What are appropriate gifts for elder relatives that I am visiting in Melaka ? Have not visited for many years.

One suggestion from my colleague is dry foodstuff like mushrooms, fishmaw, abalone, etc.

Any other suggestions that elderly relatives will appreciate ? Thanks

Since so many years that you had visited them and you might not know wht they require.

Just go to Yu Yan San or Hock Hua to buy some boxes of Ginseng Tea sachets for them with an 'ang pow'. The next vist, then you know what they require and you could buy for them during the next visit. [sunny][sunny]

okay..lets see...lives with their son in their own terrace house. Daughter is married in SG and well-off (I guess)

So I will say they are middle-class.

Giving AngPow is one of my option but I thought it is quite awkard and maybe embarassing for her ?

So 1st meeting prefer some gifts and assess the situation for future visits.

almost everyone live in a terrace house in melaka [laugh] [laugh]

life over there quite simple, dun really need much thing. i would think money is good for them to 'buy thing to eat' other food stuff may not be relevant if they have certain illness. old people like to keep some money with them just in case. :D

Neutral Newbie

Anyone knows how to get tickets for Mediacorp's "Golden Age" (黄金年华) programme? My parents are great fans of the programmme but has only watched it on TV. Feel like giving them a surprise to watch live in the studio....
