Have been procrastinating for years. But still have not gathered enough courage to put my eyes through the laser. Any feedback from bros will be appreciated.

Btw, I am 525 degree on each eye and no astig hor. :D

My wife done her lasik sometime 3 years back. So far so good, no complain from her.

If you have the means, go ahead. With advance medical technology, it is safer doing it. So far no news of lasik surgery complication in the news except one time many years back.

Best Ops for me so far. Mine 800+ on both eyes. Now I can see as well enough as when I'm wearing contact lens previously. You must be able to take the burn hair smell. when the laser start cutting, you can smell as if hair is burning.

The concern is long term - 10~20 years down the road.

Just wonder why most eye doctors with speckies still don't go for lasik themselves?

Maybe they would if they could operate on themselves.

there is a safer option now which is reversible and less complications. check out ICL or implantable contact lens. i would go for this as there is nothing done on the cornea.

some reading from local eye clinic

altho this is a newer method, the procedure is much safer as the cornea is not surgically altered - just put in lens only. it can removed anytime too. i have refrained from lasik. may consider this, it budget permits.

Ex-colleague told me the results may not be to expectation.

There are some books on recovering to normal eyesight.

I was told there are some herbals that help.

I find lowering blood sugar helps me. I am overweight, so dieting is the first start.

I have this problem at night too and so does my mother in law and my sis. I dare say this is a very common "problem" for lasik goer but definitely not a show stopper.

Not really complaining from myself too because I dont have to wear a spec anymore (thats the main concern). I had 500 on each eye before and perfect on 1 and around 100 on the other now.

I did it, years back. Best investment I made in my life, I went to Eagle Eye Centre (Julian Theng). At least he gives good consultation and recommends the type of lasik to go for, I went for the blade lasik although he had bladeless.

Everything is good and fine after the surgery.

i also scare initially but when through the whole process.. 1st night a bit regret because eye sibe pain. but 2nd day onwards okay liao...

now i can proudly say, eyes perfect liao... no much issue.

but hor.. when tired, eyes will still not be good.. cause our eyes will be drier.. tired mean less fluid on eyes so need to use eyes drop.

I did mine in 2008. No comments on long term performance cos only time will tell. My uncle and auntie went for the pioneer batch of PRK (the surgical technique that precedes LASIK) more than 10 years ago. They are still going strong. Given that LASIK is superior to PRK on most counts, i think that gives us a good indication of long term performance.
