Acieed 1st Gear November 10, 2011 Share November 10, 2011 HTML5 is not exactly an "Apple thing", and Flash doesn't bring in most of Adobe's revenue. It was more of a platform for Adobe to sell it's tools and solutions, and HTML5 is the new platform. Think of this as Samsung, HTC, Sony, Nokia dropping WM and Symbian in favour of Android. Apparently, it is too much of an investment to continue competing against the HTML5 community (again, not created by Apple) under the current economic climate. There are other priorities for Adobe, so life goes on. Apple shaped the IT world
Icedbs Turbocharged November 10, 2011 Share November 10, 2011 No choice...Apple doesn't use flash on its mobile and they happen to have a big market share in the mobile market now. So what is the point for Adobe to continue developing flash for mobile when the market leader is not using it? In short, Apple mobile devices killed flash. Adobe is a listed company, and they too need to show profit every quarter. Doesn't make sense for them to put investment and resoruces into flash for mobile when it is losing marrket share due to Apple.

Strange, then why is Samsung not the most valuable tech company in the world, considering that besides handphone, they sell a host of otther electronic equipments? Apple on the other hand is the most valuable tech company in world just by Iphones and ipads?

Acieed 1st Gear November 10, 2011 Share November 10, 2011 Apple manages itself as a brand, like LVMH sell the same marques for decades and still going strong. Samsung is a product company with many product lines. Don't confuse between technology and brand. If technology decides the value of a company, then many original inventors of Internet, WWW, MPEG, Unix (which Mac OS is built on) etc. would have been very wealthy and very valuable. Strange, then why is Samsung not the most valuable tech company in the world, considering that besides handphone, they sell a host of otther electronic equipments? Apple on the other hand is the most valuable tech company in world just by Iphones and ipads? ↡ Advertisement
