Spring Moderator December 5, 2011 Share December 5, 2011 I dont think Mobil 1 has 5W-40. 5W-40 is only available with Shell Helix. I stand corrected

Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear December 5, 2011 Share December 5, 2011 No problem la. That's what a car forum is for isn't it? Not shooting each other in cyberspace, etc. I like the way you put it.
Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear December 5, 2011 Share December 5, 2011 Went imm giant around 6plus.. Left with 0w40. 10w30 a few only. Saw 10W30 at Sembawang on Sunday. I believe many cars need this for traffic jams
Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear December 5, 2011 Share December 5, 2011 (edited) 0W40 should be normal rating for all cars. I buy it coz driving Bimmer which is more than 5yrs old already, and the 0W40 bottle has the BMW LL01 tag behind to denote approved BMW long life oil rating. Those 30/50 rating did not indicate the BMW LL01 behind, so for me quite clear cut what to buy. My understanding is buy 30 if you want better fuel economy and 50 for turbo-charge or older cars I believe 0W or 5W for better FC or cooler places like Genting/Cameron. 30 more suitable for OPC mostly used at night. 40 for normal car with day usage. 50 for turbo... Luckcent 4th Gear December 9, 2011 Share December 9, 2011 I believe 0W or 5W for better FC or cooler places like Genting/Cameron. 30 more suitable for OPC mostly used at night. 40 for normal car with day usage. 50 for turbo... After 3 servicing with the AD, I have been using 30W oils for my TC SUV and it has been from 2005 to 2011 till I sold it. No problem whatsoever with the engine and no EO consumption leh.
