Turbocharged

DC Design from has revealed first sight of their supercar in New Delhi following a teaser image from a few days ago.

Called the Avanti, which is a reference to the Studbaker Avanti from Tintin comics, the Indian supercar will initially be available with a Ford 4-cylinder turbo engine producing 265 hp (268 PS / 197 kW), and then followed by a Honda V6 making 400 hp (298 kW / 406 PS) - modest figures indeed for a supercar.

Not helping matters either is a unacceptable supercar sprint time to 100km/h in less than seven seconds. All this in an Aventador matching 3,440 lbs (1,560 kg) vehicle with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Manufactured at DC Design's Talegaon plant in Pune, the body is made of aluminium while the body panels are made of fiberglass (GRP). Engines will be prepared in the UK and then shipped to India.

Despite our initial supercar skepticism, we're reminded that the Avanti is intended to be an affordable supercar priced at 30 lakh rupees ($56,277 /

All red color slimline sports car will look like some earlier cars.

Very hard to innovate new body shape and curves, to achieve good aerodynamics.

Give chance lah.

Very stress world.

Not bad looking!

Qns-

Since drivers there drive with full time full blast horning, will it have a de-horn button to cancel the horn which is otherwise blasting full time once the engine starts?

Does it come with complementary cococnut trees?

Any entry level model using same body but Nano's engine?

Most important:

Will our ministers down grade n do a group buy to save money yet maintain supercar life style?

Haa haa.....that show really hopeless.

The cars they made only looks nice on the outside.

Internally all messy and structural weakness(due to anyhow cut and weld).

I hope they are not part of the design team!!!

Dun laugh so much - it's not so long ago that 0-100 in 7 seconds was considered really fast!

Do you know what were the specs of the Miura, or the Countach?

Not so far away from this car

But I still wouldn't touch one with a 15' pole
