Taxi operators pay the prevailing quota premium (PQP) to replace their taxis within 6 months of de-registration of their taxis. If the taxi is not replaced by

paying PQP, the de-registered taxis would be recycled as replacement COEs.

 

so they are not replacing old taxis but ADDING new taxis to the fleet?

To make up the shortage of bus and MRT capacity.. due to you-know-who screwing up our population by mass importing foreigners..

Bcos when locals people get unemployed or replaced by FTs, they still need to eat.

 

Driving a Taxi is the ONLY protected job in Singapore. MUST be Singaporeans.

Got so many taxi also no use, peak period still cannot get a cab, even on call also no use. Ironically we have 50% more taxi population than HK but dunno why in HK hailing a cab anytime any day is so easy... Some more HK land area is so much bigger than spore, population also more than us by 2 million. Something is wrong with our taxi system. I think the whole public transport system need an overhaul. Getting more and more ridiculous nowadays
