Akula Turbocharged January 27, 2012 Share January 27, 2012 Maintenance free? is there such a thing, esp a 3 yr old car? With ur budget, C-class, 3 series, A4 all make the cut... Along with Mondeo, VWs, Volvo etc.....
Karu 6th Gear January 27, 2012 Share January 27, 2012 (edited) If u are looking for something equivalent of ur 2.3 V6, then 120K may not be enough for a 3 yr old car. You'll have to find something older, maybe a 4-5 yr old 5 series? Edited January 27, 2012 by Karu

Along with Mondeo, VWs, Volvo etc..... Sat in a 3 series recently... doesnt seem to be spacious (most impt criteria). Have to seat 3 average sized adults at the back. And the driver's seat tends to be pushed quite far back as I'm 6ft tall with rather long legs. As for maintenance, i suppose it's reasonable to be replacing worn out parts every year but not to the extent of having to bring to workshop every 3 months cos something is not working. As a comparison, my current 5 yr old car still runs ok, other than regular servicing & replacement of worn out parts, don;t have to bring to workshop for other repairs. Wyfitms Twincharged January 27, 2012 Author Share January 27, 2012 I guess there are many choices out there. As I am rather lazy, i only wish to shortlist 2 or 3 to test drive, so really appreciate your comments!

Reliable & maintenance free (again, vis a vis other comparable makes) Appreciate your comments/ recommendations! Current ride is a cefiro 2.3 v6. Thanks! The best advice is to keep your current ride. Not many conti makes can meet your requirements, especially No. 3. But if you really insist, the Skoda Superb is a good alternative but I don't see any 2L ones on sale. And make sure you get the 5 year warranty program.
Deividz 5th Gear January 27, 2012 Share January 27, 2012 (edited) 06 Saab 9-5. Costs around 50plus k. Just set aside 3k per year for the next 3-4 years for maintenance. Edited January 27, 2012 by Deividz
Steptronic Supercharged January 27, 2012 Share January 27, 2012 Based on your requirements 1 and 2, I would certainly recommend BMW 523i. Nice handling and quite comfort also. Well, on point 3 (reliability), I would recommend E series. Maintenance is highly subjective and you have to be ready for higher service and maintenance on any conti-car. 1. Comfort and space (can seat 5 average sized adults comfortably) 2. value for money (vis a vis other comparable makes) 3. Reliable & maintenance free (again, vis a vis other comparable makes)

My budget is around 2 to 3K. Not sure if that is sufficient... ↡ Advertisement
