Tianake 2nd Gear February 24, 2012 Share February 24, 2012 i also remember these figures painted on the buses.... but nowadays govt talks about free-market / market forces etc..... so if the passengers use force to get into a sardine-packed train, like a 38 busts fitting into a 32 bras, the aim to let market force decide things is achieved... SMRT/LTA are just following govt's instruction Maybe a few traffic accidents of fully packing buess will then make the Garmen awake and penalise the bus operator for over loading. Happen to see TP or LTA stopping a dump truck for overloading of sand, how come LTA/TP never stop buses for overloading? 2 different laws again? ↡ Advertisement

Tuna_seng Clutched February 24, 2012 Share February 24, 2012 (edited) Perhaps we should make them ourselves? But then can not worship foreigners after that. How? Still can lah. Hire Malaysian, PRC, and Filipino factory workers to make them in Singapore loh. Then can still proudly proclaim Made In Singapore plus solving other countries' unemployment problems. Kill 2 birds one stone. Edited February 24, 2012 by Tuna_seng
Ckchong8 1st Gear February 24, 2012 Share February 24, 2012 By the way, when i was young, I see on the buses that there is a limit on the number of passengers allowed on the bus like 1 driver, 40 seated passager and 30 standing passenger. It seem like this is no longer applicable for the buses right? How about the train? any loading limit?? Yes there is, the box the limit !!!

Happen to see TP or LTA stopping a dump truck for overloading of sand, how come LTA/TP never stop buses for overloading? 2 different laws again? Anticipate some/many traffic accidents with buses involved. Reason: 800 new buses needs more than 800 new drivers recruited and trained, learning curve may be too short . So learn through mistakes on the roads?

Yewheng Twincharged April 29, 2013 Share April 29, 2013 (edited) http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singap...ine/658032.html SINGAPORE: MRT commuters along the North-South Line were experiencing delays as at 7.30pm Monday. SMRT told Channel NewsAsia that the delay was believed to be due to a track fault. The affected stations were Somerset and Orchard. SMRT said commuters along the stretch of line would experience delays of about 10 minutes. That's because trains have to travel slower across the affected stretch, as a safety precaution. So still can move but at delay. Edited April 29, 2013 by Yewheng
