My To and Fro Sydney will be 10 days. I am thinking of flying over to Mel from Sydney after 3 days in Sydney as i can see there are more to offer in Mel.

Hence, I would only have 8-9 days so in Mel :((

Hope its enuf. Oyster and seafood is a must for food. Will be going with my GF....therefore stripshows are out.

GF eh...

1) Plan a trip to Daylesford and the surrounding spas and stay at least a night there (Would recommend the pte unit at Holyrood).

2) And since you're up there already, you might as well go check out Ballarat and Sovreign Hill.

3) Spend one day at either Southwarf or Essondon DFO shopping (warning one day may not be enough)

4) and a second shopping day at Smith Street in Collingwood, Brunswick Street in Fitzroy (start off here with breakfast at Flying Birdman), + the Diana Ferrari Outlet in Fairfield.

5) For seafood, you're best off at the Sydney Fish Market, but you can check out Williamstown (which in addition to some seafood, has a historical area, conservation area + an ice cream factory).

6) Go to Movida's for Spanish Food,

7) over the weekend go to Victoria Market, then gander down to Fraus for chocolate and crepes. Also go to St Kilda's market.

8) Go to Philip Island for the penguins

9) Take a great ocean road tour

Except for 7 and 8, I did the rest + a 2 night farmstay and 3 days at my cousins for his wedding over a 10 day trip last Nov. I'll give you a few more food recommendations soon. there are a lot of new establishments that are very good, but I can't remember their names.

Thanks for your concern bro. Will bring some money. S$10 simple meal is just like what we are doing in SG. But Marlboro Lights there are so cheap ! OOps....I promised to quit ...

Simple meal as in our $3 ++ hawker food level. For good food I spent an average of $50 per person [:p] more if it was atas food

P.S. Almost forgot. Go visit bro Trex [laugh]

Any recommendation worth to buy & makan in Melbourne?

Makan : Lobster noodles at Pacific Restaurant. A$120+ thereabouts, but very very nice. Can feed 2 big eaters or 3 small eaters.

Shop : Vitamins from Chemist Warehouse. Maximize your savings by buying bulk sizes

this one was surprising to me.. i would assume they dont have our sizes...  on the contrary ... their ''small'' sizes are the one that definitely there... ie.. we can buy...

if you are heading towards GOR...12 apostles... grampians etc.. there are some vineyards for pretty decent food...

if u are talking abt the melb city itself...  lygon street (italian food)...  there was also this lebanese food that was very nice along the opposite the casino...  (forgot the name)

The fella should also be clearer.   There's plenty of good food in Melbourne.  Its a question of what you like.

Greek - The Press Club

English - Dinner by Hestons

Australian - Vue de Monde

Fish & Chips - Tommy Ruff on Chapel Street

Coffee -  Patricia Coffee Brewers, Market Lane Coffee

Doughnuts - American Doughnut Kitchen at Queen Victoria Market.  They sell out of a van.  5 doughnuts for 6 bucks.  Best doughnuts ever.

Ice cream and ice cream cakes - Glace on Peel Street

Burgers and fries - Bottle of Milk (Lorne on the GOR route), there's also a fantastic ice cream parlour in the same town.

Branded bags? If you are referring to the atypical LV, Prada, etc. Go Paris and buy better.

Yeah the foreign food is really good in Australia.

Tim sum, Korean, Greek, Italian, Turkish, etc.

Someone said they only speak English in Oz.

Haha nothing is further from the truth. China town mandarin and Cantonese, Korean, Vietnamese and all the other languages are spoken Labanese, Turkish even Afikans.

It's really a multi-racial country more diverse than Singapore.

:D
