I saw many cars which is direct owners, also selling the car about the same price as those dealers. Nowadays for all 3-4 years old car, all priced at least 60K or more. Only those 5 year or more car then can find below 60K.

as long there are suckers still blinding go and buy, this trend will not stop.

must act as a whole community than rather let those evil dealers selling lemon or faulty cars.

nowadays dealers don't really practice gd ethic etc; send car for checking/servicing or restore to working condition.

But the reason those dealers give is used car follow current COE price, so no choice they have to price at such ridiculous pricing. [rolleyes]

I'm curious how many would actually consider renew its CAT A COE at this point of time

Consider that most new 2.0L and above cost est 180k +/- now

And on avg 9 + yrs old car fetch est 25k +/ - PARF value

Factor in that if your current CAT A car does less then 100k mileage

I may consider doing that. If the parf is low(6-7k), condition is good, it is still worth to buy a 10 or 5 yr PQP.

True, still dont understand how come 2nd hand car price follow current COE?! Dont think it is logical having to pay so much for the 2nd hand car when the original price and the paper value of the car is so low?!

they are following demand & supply...however pple relate it to current coe prices..

Just to chip in, am looking to buy another car too.

Current vios is giving me fears.. was thinking of keeping the vios as standby car..and buying a mpv as the main.

But prices seems to benefit the continental makes. 136k for vw touran versus 155k for wish.

Resale mkt for 1 year plus touran is 119k.

Am super worried..; dunno when the vios will up lorry on me.

Is the generaladvice to hold and wait first? hoping for coe to drop end of the year..iguess wont happen huh

Actually when i look at the 2nd hand car market, some make/model price really crazy, but for some make/model still ok. Example around 60K plus range, you can get a 07 camry. But same price you can also get 07 civic! Wonder how come camry price so "low"?

I factor in ON AVG.. not only Jap what abt Conti [laugh]

My current car Parf 22k + body est 2~3k total est 25k

Delimma now, one side i had 25k the other side avg 180k for a CAT A car

If i do my math Parf 25 + Coe 82 = 107k for another 10 yrs / depreciation

Or est 180k for a new car

Buying COE seem to be better option

Since buy new car 1st 5yrs also lost kao siao

Perhad anyone can share your thought

Car already 9 year old and yet you still changed wear & tear in 2011? You have extend your car for another 10 years COE?

Maybe if he didn't change cannot last 2 more years? I remember my mom had a change of brake pad, battery n tyres, then 3 mobths later, she traded it in for a new CatA car. That was 2 years ago n the sunny was 7yr+.

Recently, the COE increase cause more ppl to go towards purchasing second hand cars.

Personally was thinking of changing cars soon, as current car is really old already.

Is it advisable to buy second hand car?

My previous cars are all first hand.

Either renew Coe or go for brand new car. Anyway Coe are prorated no risk.

Sometimes I wonder why the owner sells a car which is only a few months old -- lemon or accident?

Sometime it is because somebody had died inside the car.

I heard of one such incident before. Owner quickly sold the car after that.
