Anyone have this experience, standing and walking too long, pain on the lower buttock downwards.

Basically is the pain on one side, and sometimes the numbness can be felt on the foot.

Anyone can share and how you over come this?

You fell? Carry heavy loads? An X Ray or MRI is better solution.

Part of aging. Has got something to do with nerve along the neck to the spinal cord.

Try not to stand to long, dont carry heavy things.

If like limping suddenly, can be partial artery blockage like a friend had many years back. Can also be back issue like weaken disc... Best seek medical advice (can be serious suddenly).

Is this common? Numbness is not a good thing

It could be due to bad posture. Or simply the way you stand. Dun always stand on one leg, stand up straight with your shoulders pushed back, arch your lower back, the purpose is to distribute your weight to your core muscles. Your weight all put to one side of course it will go numb after a while. Sit also try to sit up straight and dun slouch.

How old are you? If 40+ then about time all these starts to kick in.

Better go see a doctor, if Pinoy nurse ask you go hospital, you ask her go Marina. -_-

No lah. Not true. I know of someone over 60+ yo never complained about any pain. If you know how to take care of yourself your body will last w/o pain.

Disc degeneration problems. Causes the spinal nerves to get pinched, and the effects range from mild numbness or pain, to immobilising pain from the lower back all the way to the toes.

I know of people who completely lose sensation in one leg due to severe disc problems, or slipped discs.

right leg or left? If right leg could be tiredness resulting from driving an auto car. Especially stepping on the brake pedal for long periods of time when stuck in traffic. You might want to consider applying the parking brake to let your right leg have a chance to rest.... Also you can practise some stretching exercises at home or in the office whenever possible. It will help.

Depending on the severity and the progression of the problem..

yours already shows that certain nerves exisitng from the lumbar spine has been pinched

It could be disc related or stenosis or bony growth around the lamina region..etc... or any one of the other combination..

An MRI would shows clearly what the possible cause(s) are but what is the best course of action

would differ..

some can get away with medications to control the pain and numbness while others had to opt for surgery eithier minimum invasive or the ultimate using a spinal fixture..

But at your stage..... excercise and physio seldom will help...

eithier way ...surgery to the spine region MUST always be a last restort...

note that this is a progressive problem and with time it usually gets worse..

Some choose to 'fix' it while they are young ( while the success rate vary, surgeons almost all the time ..promise the sky..before rectification...that is.) while the more careful ones, choose to live with it and alter their life style..accordingly

It's ultimately your own call.. make the wrong one and you will suffer for it ..for the rest of your life..

I note that ppl have been coming in to get medical advice here...and also know why..

In Sinkland, ppl seldom give their 'honest opinion' espeically to medical related issue...they play wayang to others just like what their Master do to them ..

which is also why many ppl remain mislead, lost and often fall prey to the medical professional...
