Evillusion Supersonic July 12, 2016 Share July 12, 2016 Yeap- if they want to muscle all the way to Bali and Majapahit kingdoms and even Sang Nila Utama was an Indian prince (i think so if I am not wrong) but they have not as yet flexed their muscles ; maybe now they might - don't know if oil is the issue or fishing the real issue, maritime for China.... or just want to stylo Milo against US... . so many ulterior motives nowadays in people - so complex unlike the good old daysSang Nila Utama nit Indian lar......he was a Hindu Prince from Sumatera who escaped from his kingdom when it was ravaged by a Javanese King. Lurpsexx 6th Gear July 12, 2016 Share July 12, 2016 ya the outcome of south china sea is more then just the $$ oil gas fishes. its telling and showing the world, that china is able to stand up to uncle sam or not? the days when there is only 1 big boss around is over,?? there is alot more at stake for the western powers failure to even secure south china sea, which china claim its their , mean there is even lesser chance of taking back tawian?? which have the backing of US also. Knowing Chinese penchant for face, they'll never acknowledge this tribunal ruling.. With no clear legal backing now, China will hv to resort to bullying, carrot giving, or stealth land grab to consolidate whatever they have built in the south China Sea.. Darthrevan Supercharged July 12, 2016 Share July 12, 2016 i am not sure of the Country of Origin of the Judges ; but being international judges and I am sure reputed ones too and unbiased views - and they must have done due diligence too ; they won't go on a "pakat" spree; China has to find better excuses ; The judges know too well that they are open to rebuttals from any nation if done not fairly 4 Japanese judges & you're unsure? have you read 中国威胁论 idea propagated by Japan? And do you know Japan is afraid of "retribution" by China should it rise one day because of what Japan did in WW2?

Everybody already involved one way or the other bro.. its only China acted on their words, while the rest just trade words against China, but dare not oppose physically (like fortify their atolls or grab new ones).. Only Uncle Sam dare to eyeball to eyeball against the Chinese by sailing and flying within 12 miles of their islands, and the Chinese can only swear back (and clench their balls at the same time..lol..) The losers will be everyone once the balloon goes up and the shooting starts... So its to everyone interest that they keep their ego monster in the closet and let rational heads prevail... this ruling is just words that's not worth trading bullets for...

I thought the US says it is not taking sides over the SCS dispute, so why only target China ? Remember, this case was brought in by the Philippines, not China. After the one-sided ruling by this tribunal, does this solve anything ? So what next ?

Remember, this case was brought in by the Philippines, not China. After the one-sided ruling by this tribunal, does this solve anything ? So what next ? Who started the massive landfills ? Who built military installations on the previously uninhabited atolls, who tried all ways n means to prove the SC sea as their own lake? Who tried to go round the world to buy support for their claim in the SC sea? Who unilaterally imposed the ADIZ over the east china sea without informing all air users ? Who started this shit in the first place recently?? The SC sea does hv competing claims since tens of years ago, but the claimants didn't go about doing landfills n building airstrips.. They didn't impose their nine dash line..they didn't send their warship-like coast guard to far away places to ram other countries ships n save their illegally fishing boats.. If they didn't start getting bolder n being a big bully just bec they have more money now to buy more military toys, the status quo would have remained , n the Philippines would not have sued China to the court.. Kudos to Philippines for having the balls to bring this Chinese bully to task (while having uncle Sam's big stick behind their back).. ASEAN was a wimp which couldn't even agree to a statement condemning China for the land grab in the recent meeting, no thanks to the Chinese grease on these poor countries politicians palms..
Shull Turbocharged July 12, 2016 Share July 12, 2016 This Hague ruling only states that China's claims are unsubstantiated and illegal, but does not award the islands to anyone. Usually if there's conflicting claims, Hague will always award to the party who has proven historical administration in the last 100 yrs or so (eg, pedra branca). But in this case, the islands have gone under the radar until very recently. It'll be interesting to see how Phil (and other SEA claimants) will use this ruling. One thing for sure, there is still a sense of mistrust about China's intention. For some reason, I feel more comfortable with Uncle Sam flexing his muscle than PRC doing the same thing.

Like Saddam was the bad guy and George W Bush was good moral and security reasons to go after him. I have grown up since.
