car is onli for the rich now

as mentioned 150k for c180 and 110k for jazz

many saying might as well get mers 40k nia

its 40k we are talking bout here

4k a year

350 per month(not including interest)

in the past 40k avante and 80k civic

ppl dont say might as well top up 40k for civic

now coe price go up, cars become more ex, doesnt it make more sense to get a cheaper car then?

instead the reverse, ppl are getting more expensive cars when coe goes up.

just doesnt sound logical does it?

I will get the Merc, or I will rather get a used car.

The point is, Merc pricing have always been around this range, at time more also. But Jazz was I believe 60+ to 70+ K car just a few years ago, now its almost double.

Civic is 70-80K plus car (depends on cc) a few years ago, now its 172 k for the 1.8I version, more than double.

150k+ for a C-class, compare to 172k for a civic, car choices couldn't get more simple. For me at least. All I need is to pick the color & check some options on the option list.

Honda civic is a good car, adequate power with nice interior and exterior styling, not to mention the reliability is top-notch and maintainance is easy on the pockets. Had the new civic not being such a disappointment, coupled with the ridiculous amount of money for a civic, I would not hestitate to get another civic again.

After all these sweet memories of ownership of this car, it's time to say goodbye, butt itchy and wanna try something else.

Anyone interested in my civic can PM me, and also anyone letting go of their IS250 or Mark X, can also PM me. :)

Very good observation made. However, in present times, the 40k difference between a C-class and jazz is huge. For example, branding, drivability, handling, sedan vs hatchback, features, etc. All these factors alone is enough for an end-consumer to cough out that extra 40k.

The difference between an avante and civic might not be enough to convince people to pay the 40k difference. I'm not saying they are equal, but probably not so significant, as like you mentioned, 40k is still quite a big sum of money.

Nowadays, buying new cars is a rich man's past-time... so it's not a surprise to see only expensive cars sold.

I dont really agree, when it was first launched, it was reasonable, only when Kah motor saw the popularity of the car, got greedy and started increasing yearly.

Am I missing something? You are not telling me you are going to buy the new civic?

New civic price

The 1.8A cost 172k! for a civic, & 2/5 stars review rating....

Must be die hard fan, but seeing your nick, I guess so. Well, I can't help much but I am constantly surprise by the support for this brand...

The rating for the new civic so low? How come? [:/]

Because it is really that bad.

Read from the local Torque mag review of the new 1.6L Civic. The final comments for the new Civic is as below.

New Civic is good for daily motoring but the Old Civic was GREAT.

Really bad as in design, performance, handling or engine? [:/] If you compared the new civic with the old civic, in terms of design, confirmed new civic is very bad. :D
