I have always had high regards for Vincent, he comes across as putting customers first. I believe alot of people would attest to his repo with the customers on this forum.

However after charging me for "using your own parts", he bear grudges for over a year and told me off last week saying that "I CANNOT BRING MY OWN" spares parts anymore.

Oh well, up for awareness. Looking for other reliable workshops now for Merc.

I will not patronize such w/s. The w/s that I send my car only charge me services provided. Once

changed absorber bought by the w/s and after 1 month ( part leak oil ) I claimed from them

and they replaced another free of charge.

Hmmm...pardon my candid POV. Why save that few tens when you are driving a Merc? I think in all fairness, a responsible workshop will bear the defect from the parts they provide and am sure Riverview will honour this. However what if the parts are brought by the car owner? Too many points to argue and debate. In the end we may go small claim tribunal to slug it out. It is a either he bang balls or you bang situation if something goes wrong. And based on many thick skinned Sporeans I came across from all walks of life. They are capable to talk until it is no fault of theirs and it is all the installer's fault.

I think in all fairness, a responsible workshop will give you turnkey services and give you the best recommendation. This is to give all parties the peace of mind.

their labour charges are getting higher as well... so many workshops in singapore, it's easy to find another.

i stopped patronising them 3 years ago liao... vincent used to be friendly, now he look at you like u owe him money... he gave me the up down look, then went to wipe down his mercedes CLK....

in amk autopoint, got many wksp that are more willing and more friendly than riverview....

personally i think their service is not cheap also. my ex company commercial vehicle was serviced by them. but in the end the bill come out to be quite high. i dont really find their service is value for money though. If their service is good, im sure people will not mind paying a bit more.

This I have to agree. Labour charges getting higher and they dont even let you bring your own oil.

Instead of giving rebates like certain workshop, they impose additional charges. [knife]

Most ADs dont impose charges if you bring your own oil.

no joke man, $75 service fee even before anyone opens the bonnet, if u bring your own oil.

add another $25 penalty on top of that because u didn't use their oil.

$100 total.

just checked my last bill.

(yes, Riverview, that is my last bill ever with you.)

there's lotsa of workshops around, but how many do you trust? with the high number of old cars on the road, workshops services are definitely in high demand. so if you are a profit generating workshop, would you turn away a car which use your parts or bring their own parts?

Some merc are vintage kind, a bit cheap cheap nia (before the ridiculous COE now), not like the super ex ones now.

riverview is fully entitled to charge whatever they feel is fair, the high charges that turn people away might be good thing for them, coz then only the willing car owners will keep going back, without having to wait too long for their car to be attended to.

i find their charges too high, and luckily for me, i found a workshop that is competent with my make and model. so i'm happy.

confirmed. coz i read it off my own bill.

the $75 is labour for oil change plus dunno-how-many-point check. $25 is penalty for bringing own oil.
