hmm...

Trying to diverse my profile in this versatile mkt.

I have some equities, some bond , some pty, some gold..

I was thinking of putting some $$ into FX FD, was intenting to put into AUD.. but was wondering if HKD is good also. Rate given by SC quite attractive now.

Any advise from the financial experts in the forum :)

Hi Guys,

USD FD at UOB bank is nearly 0.8% PA, and I already have a small USD acct there doing nothing earning paltry 0.05%...

Problem is there are tiered interest rates, and I am thinking of converting some SGD to USD to hit better deposit rates...

What is the best way to do this?

The rates by UOB is not so good, as compared to mustafa.. a loss of about 6 pips...

Would it be sound to convert at mustafa in cash, and top up the account in cash together with my leftover USD from trips?

Not the best time to change USD, but I think it should rise in the medium term, and I can use it for insurance payments

Aussie?? Which currency??

Aussie,

There are some very good earlier posts on having a need before doing dual currency.

Also very good posts on how transfers between banks are costly.

Still ok for Aussie lah.. Just put a watchlist at 99cents to SGD1 and squeeze trigger. If can get good. If cannot, then wait again...

Canadian dollar dropped further.

Looks ridiculously low.
