Toyota cars are well known for good fuel efficiency.

Lexus being the luxurious Toyota cars are poor in FC, why is that so?

If you compare Toyota Mark X and Lexus IS250, they use the same 2.5L engine, Mark X can achieve 13km/L while the latter only 11.1km/L, doesn't match lei.

Maybe Mark X is lighter.?Lexus usually got alot of option equipment,so much heavier.

Could due to bigger engine? Cause i think the smallest engine from lexus should be 2.5L and higher.

If drive Lexus hack FC. It applies to all Luxury cars. Think twice if FC is a priority when purchasing car. There are many reasons why a Mark X cost much lesser than the IS250. Go figure out.

I guess the main reason why mark X cost lesser than IS250, cause of the branding. Mark X the name afterall still is toyota, whereas IS250 is lexus. :D

Not true, I used to own Mark X in 06 and Lux !S 250 in 07, both produces reasonable fc, avg 9.6 in IS 250 and approx 9.8-10 depends on how one drives.

Both are fantastic cars to drive, being MX the spacious of the two, But in terms of drive performance both are equally ahead of others, IS gives an edge interms of stability & cutting edge plus resale value, not forgetting unsurpassed service attitude.

Mark X was P.I, so you don't expect any 1st class service, slightly cheaper but that was that . . .

Then stick the Lexus brand onto the Mark X and try your luck to sell it at Lexus price? On brand, both are registered as Toyota in SG FYI. There are things you get on Lexus where you don't get on Mark X. These things are what cost the extra. And yes the BM Lexus lounge too which I hate.

I think let's forget about this comparison. A Mark X is not a IS250 either way. Just like an Acura is not Honda or Infiniti not Nissan although they are based on similar platforms. The maker will put in extras to ensure you pay for what you get. Otherwise just exchange badge and try to sell it off to unsuspecting customers.

U missed out quite alot in comparison to convince those who believe both car can swap badges and appear in each other showroom. :)

Which is why I said don't compare. End of the day get a 1.6 Jap, Korean or China car if FC is a concern. Even a 1.6L C180 drinks more than any other 1.6L.

It is like buy BMW but complain servicing expensive and want to buy own engine oil for servicing. Throw face.

Erm, guys, I'm just curious why the same company make 2 different badge with same engine but different FC only, nothing to do with luxury or not, rich or poor.
