Gusruh Clutched July 30, 2012 Share July 30, 2012 Hi members, I need your view and advise on car video recorder. I understand that no video recording allow at the immigration checkpoint and Jurong Island. I know of someone who was stopped at checkpoint because he was having the car video recorder and it is recording. He was brought to office with the device and recording was deleted. The premises clearly state that no photography and video recording allowed. I think they will step up new rules on such device soon if too many cars having such a device. I am using one too but so far have not been stopped before at our checkpoint or Johore side. My recorder is nicely fitted and it is quite cumbersome to take it down whenever I go in. But again it will be more inconvenience for me and my family having to wait if I was caught recording at checkpoint. So, members with such device do take note that you may be stop at checkpoint for having such device. ↡ Advertisement

Like that, no need to dismantle DVD. after pass through checkpoints, take another SD card and slot it in ...

Canisminor 1st Gear July 30, 2012 Share July 30, 2012 Unfortunately, asking most of our government departments and civil service to use their common sense seldom works. Like last time I had fog lights fitted for the aesthetics but still faced problems even when I pulled out the loose wires and showed that they are not connected to anything. Gusruh Clutched July 30, 2012 Author Share July 30, 2012 I turn it off when approaching the immigration complex. Turn it back on when I leave it. Once they see the device, they may stop you whether you recording or not. The only way for them to know whether the device is recording is to stop you and bring the card to their office and go through their computer. Agree with you, law is hard to fight with common sense.

TVT Supercharged August 28, 2012 Share August 28, 2012 Install recorder that is easily removable when needed. Most cam clipped to the suction cap can be removed easily. If can't just remove the whole cap lor. Those smaller cams like Blackvue can also be removed but more tedious a bit only.

EG73 1st Gear August 8, 2015 Share August 8, 2015 I don't think they will allow you to take out the memory card only or put a sticker to cover it as you can still put another one in and start recording again. You need a camera that can easy take out and put back la.
