Higher the CCA the better?

Hi all,

Will a higher CCA make a car more responsive at startup and cruising? How do you achieve a higher than normal CCA in a car? Any downside to it?

Please advise me and Thank you very much.

Hi,

CCA = Cold Crank Amperes

Good for faster cranking only.

Your car's acceleration does not depend on batteries though.

-Increase CCA, buy battery with higher Amperes.

Cheers

I replaced my Amaron battery twice. Both the same rating.

But what I noticed is after the first replacement, the car cranked faster.

Second replacement, no difference in cranking.

Anyone can advise? [hur]

I have seen devices out there, which can boost your CCA significantly. They are wired to your +/- of the car battery.

So I wonder what goods do they have beside increasing the CCA? They are more expensive than those common Voltage stabilizer.

Regards,

You can't boost real cca other than adding another battery.

Those devices are capacitors and tricked cca meter into giving a false reading.

These meters used AC conductance to check battery.

Capacitors in parallel throw the measured response off, changing the phase angle and thus the meter reads higher and you think you got extra cca...but you really got nothing.

CCA is a test for the battery to provide X amp for 30 seconds at -18 deg C.

It is a test to allow you to gauge the battery ability to provide X amp under those conditions.

It does not mean your car will run better or worse.

It's merely a cranking ability.

If starting engine load takes 150 amp, it will still take the same 150 amp from the battery, whether the battery is 300 CCA or 600 CCA.

And bcoz starting crank usually takes less than 5 seconds for the engine to fire up, it makes not much difference in battery size, provided the minimum CCA is met.

Regards,

My 2 cents: I understand that CCA rating is the capability of a battery to crank continuously for some time while maintaining the voltage (not dropping too much) at cold temperatures. This should be more handy in cold countries like Canada / Europe.

Is it relevant to us at 30 deg C most of the time? Nevertheless, it is an interesting topic, please do share your research results.

Hi there,

I read further and extracted the information from their claims:

The following are some of the improvement you will see after installing the power charger:

1 - Proven horsepower and torque enhancement as validated through the KIDO HP tester. Power improvement from 5% to up to 20% or up to 15 Horsepower.

2 - Fuel saving up to 25%.

3 - Prolong battery lifespan with increase CCA.

4 - Stabilizes the power system, and excels the electrical discharge efficiency.

5 - Reduces the noise interference to the electrical system, thus extending the life of electrical components.

6 - Improve acceleration and responsiveness.

7 - Improves car ignition, and saves the fuel.

8 - Reduces engine trembling, and enhances engine response.

9 - Improves startup torque, and improves the stability at idle speed.

10 - Eliminates noise from the alternator, and resolve the car's internal electrical system's impedance resistance problems.

11 - Increase battery Cold Cranking Ampere (CCA) performance instantly with lower resistance in battery.

It seems to me that it has many benefits apart from just raising the CCA, what do you think? Too good to be true?

Regards,

lolz electronic stuffs doesnt makes ur CAR goes faster or responsive . other than ecu of coz . those throttle control watever b-------t is to adjust the timing onli . or the level . but in the end u get the same horsepower . nowadays too many sensors n electronics on modern cars . bo pian . all sorts of nonsense product came out . example : in other words if u have a longer leg when driving ur electronically controlled throttled car , ur throttle control gadget watever shxt doesnt make ur car more responsive . n in this case ur cca only makes ur car crank smoother on the initial start only . well if it is onli a few bucks why not . if u telling 100 bucks , then u realli muz have love to spend money on mods like broquet n etc etc . seriously dudez .

btw . saving fuel for this kind of junk my beautifull ass .

If it's too good to be true, it's too good to be true. [laugh]

The simple truth is this... Anything that hangs around the neck of the battery + and - is not going to do anything.

In the worst scenario, it just drain the battery.

But for the marketeer, it can do magic and wonders.

Have you ever seen anything hanging around the battery that comes stock from a car factory ?

If it's that good, why not do it at the factory ?

The only thing they can show you is to put the cca meter before and after to show you how much the cca has "increased" (erroneously) and see if you bite. :D

Kido tester is to test the power of your kido. Highest level is to use kido #1 without incantations.

Best is to train your shikai to develop a bankai. Must find out the name of your zanpatou to unlease full potential

A higher CCA battery will allow the car to crank better, of course if your car required 400A then 500A CCA is alright, since the CCA of a battery does drop slightly over the year.

Dun bother about getting electronics to boost the CCA, it is pointless and useless, there are just tiny capacitors inside. Not like those supercapacitors that is very large.

lolz. that makes it so much clearer.

i thought the only way to test horsepower is by using a dynomometer ?

i tried googling.... this Kido Hp tester dun even exist (well maybe its a super secret technology only powercharger salesperson are made aware of) . :P

The name Kido was just made up by the person trying to sell his product so just make up a name for a tester which dun exist.

The world out there is full of con men trying to get rich from us ignorant n gullible innocent pple.

Many have suceeded in becoming millionaires by selling us something we dun need at all.
