According to BT, more than 30 units booking for Ferrari F12 Berlinetta over the weekend.

This definitely reflect so many rich people in SIN today.

I am not sure if these are collection or to be driven?

Is it easier for corperate tax rebate in SIN??? Probably

I understand SIN is one of the most easiest country to do business compare to many.

[sINGAPORE] Ital Auto has collected more than 30 orders for the new Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, which was shown in a private viewing at its showroom on Sunday.

The more than 100 invited guests who streamed in to admire the $1.16 million car included depositors and prospective buyers. The F12's price is for the basic car and is quoted without COE. There were no test drives for this left-hand-drive model which is a factory car on a tour of the region.

The car has since been moved to Marina Bay Sands, where it is on public display in front of the Ferrari Store.

The F12 replaces the 599 GTB and is the fastest and most powerful Ferrari. It has a 6.3-litre V12 engine which develops 740 hp and 690 Nm. Zero to 100 kmh takes only 3.1 seconds, with an additional 5.4 seconds to reach 200 kmh on the way to a top speed of 340 kmh.

The authorised Ferrari distributor says it started collecting "registrations of interest" early last year, shortly after the F12's world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The first delivery is expected in the first quarter of 2013.

"The response has been phenomenal, to say the least," said Andrew Howes, Ital Auto's general manager.

He said the F12 is not only the most powerful series production car money can buy, but "it also represents the sum total of Ferrari's decades of experience in building the best sports cars in the world".

"Consequently, nothing else on the market today comes even remotely close, and our customers recognise this," he added.

When asked if the economic uncertainty has affected demand for supercars lately, he said Ferrari has "a slightly different situation" because of its "constraint on supply".

Ferrari chief Luca di Montezemolo has famously been quoted as saying that the Prancing Horse will always build one car less than demand requires.

Mr Howes explained: "This has the effect of smoothening out peaks and troughs, although sometimes it means we cannot get as many cars as we would like."

Last year, Ferrari was the supercar marque with the most new registrations in Singapore, according to Land Transport Authority data (see table) and it is also in the lead so far this year.

But not all the cars registered may be new as some could be parallel imports of up to three years old.

Mr Howes said Ital Auto is unable to comment on exact numbers sold and registered.

However, he did say that as Ferrari now has a regional warranty in effect, "we do not see parallel imports as a significant threat going forward".

"Parallel importers have not been able to give cars retailed outside the official dealer network the level of care and attention that they deserve and thus far, the regional warranty simply cements this fact," he said.

Despite the impressive order bank, Ferrari's numbers still lag behind those of its traditional Italian rival, Lamborghini, when its flagship model was made available for booking.

In December 2010, Lamborghini Singapore picked up more than 50 orders for the Aventador before the $1.5 million supercar arrived. The first example of the model that replaced the Murcielago eventually appeared here in mid-2011.
