For show? When I had my City, I use it when I need to accelerate and at times when I longed to drive a manual car.

And it also comes in handy when I need to brake hard to prevent a collision.

P.S. I'm driving a FD1A (w paddle shift too)

 

Press the brake pedal, and down shift the gears in quick succession.
