Forget about restoring if you just want an RC toy to bash around - the plastic is old and brittle by now and will crack if you even look at it the wrong way.

Just buy a new model to play with. But if its for sentimental value......different thing altogether. eBay is your best bet for restoration parts.

Tamiya has been releasing all their R/C buggies & onroad from the 80"s. You can get HotShot, SuperShot, Frog, Hornet, Grasshopper, Lunchbox, Midnight Pumpkin, Subaru brat, Avante (the best release so far), etc etc. You can see them all at Tamiya showroom at Stargek @ paya lebar.

I can sense your joy building up 

I still have my Hornet, HotShot, CityTurbo, TurboRocky, many other unused parts in boxes. And many Dash and Attack 2channel controllers as well.

Waiting for my retirement in 20years time, to finally have time for me to relive my childhood once more.

Hi

Stargek still has at least 1 Avante Black Special in their showroom.

I believe Auntie Winnie can still source for it too.

Personally, feel the Black Special is over priced for what it is thought I would have gotten it instead if I hadn't bought the normal re-re Avante already.

Cheers

You might want to try the tamiya shop at ubi. They have lots of spares, and I believe there is a 20% year end discount now.

You are good, I have a small traffic cone signed by Manabu Orido when he was in SGP for a drift demonstration in Sentosa in 2004. He was driving a borrowed car, my friend's AE86.

Oh the memories [thumbsup]

Cheers
