I know a way to quit....

Was a smoker for 5 years, 1 pack a day, took only 3 hours, from 20 a day to 0 a day next, no withdrawals, whatsoever.

never felt better and never looked back since. you need my help? don't worry, no drugs or funny methods, you just need to read a book.

I was abit skeptical at first when my friends introduced me about this method, but I went ahead and yeah, it worked, it had about 100% success rate for all my friends, although a few of them went back to smoking eventually because they were careless (because it is too damn easy to quit, so they took it for granted and yeah, they weren't mindful of their actions).

It is all a psychological game that we have sunk ourselves into. weird huh? if you guys are interested, let me know, I'll PM you the book title and author, a very short read only. But works!

Ok saw your post

I got the book bro.

Sorry to say, it's very long winded. I skip it to the easy ways to stop smoking chapter.. again sorry, you found it easy after you read all this? Determination is the only way to quit.

Good night.

He has a reason for being long winded, because if he wrote it openly in the beginning that you should stop smoking immediately, most people would just stop reading it. But as you slowly read it through, he explains to you, why you feel the need to smoke, it's the tobacco industry as a whole that has brainwashed society into smoking. He won't bother telling you the health effects of smoking, he will explain to you, the psychology of smoking, and how to nip it instantly.

In fact, all withdrawal symptoms are the effects of the mind. There is virtually no withdrawal symptom from lack of nicotine at all.

The book itself is only about 90+ pages, it should take one person maybe 3-4 hours to read it from start to end. And yes, I found it easy, as one other friend here has already said this book worked for his friend without sweat.

To be honest I did feel weird for the first few days, because like, after a meal, I would sit there and be like, okay, I should be smoking now usually, but.... I am not smoking at all, I didn't feel the need to. That's just an example.

appreciate the resident doctors, Turboflat, lalai and radx, who are in the position and authority to speak on this, can help assist fellow members here to understand the detrimental effects of smoking; thought it is a personal choice whether to smoke or not; still I believe we can do our part with public health education

I confess I was a smoker before, how it started when I was in my teenager days and doing clubbing, it seems the MAN image was smoking and drinking (remember Mr. Camel and Mr. Malboro) and even the girls were doing it; then came army, when you are in charge of a group of hokkien peng, to get their trust and obedience, you need to be a member and smoking was the easiest way to reach this end, I learnt a thing or two in the army, 1. never upset the cook - you will be served shxt, 2. educated person means nothing when integrity and loyalty is concerned - I have a few hokkien peng soldiers who up today are still loyal to me - when I was harassed by my CO - they wanted to "teach" him a lesson - obviously I was scared shxt because anything happened I would be throwing my future away - so told them I can handle them - when they promise they really keep their promise even years or decades later

then when I left the army, I was fortunate to see so many painful things that cigarette can do; it can cause disease which is needless to say; I have seen kids with burned cigarettes marks (fresh and old) from accidents to abuse; fighting because of cigarette - in sungei road when I was having my bowl of laksa; I was fortunate to have doctor friends who spent countless hours educating me on the ill effects of cigarette; in short, smoking really kills but you don't feel the effect now and when you do feel the effects it is too often too late and irreversible

I hope members would wise up and stop literally burning your money away and harming those around you; there are many other healthier vices around; in the end ask yourself what does smoking achieve for you; does it really make you feel good (it is the nicotine addictive effect that is making you come back for a smoke and not that it is truly enjoyable)

It is a personal choice. One's profession and/or demeanor has nothing to do with it.

I have an uncle (my father's younger brother) who is a specialist doctor. He smokes together with us when he's relaxing, having family dinners, playing golf, etc.

I have a friend, doctor also, smokes and drinks like crazy when we party together.

Both are NUS-trained with specialist degrees from Scotland in case you think they are those bogus quack doctors.

Do they know smoking causes cancer?
