whats their reason for failing?

LTA's mantra is that illegal exo causes your steering and brakes to go haywire. [laugh]

i rather change ecu.

was recommended unichip

I have a Hydra Nemesis EMS (can't remember version) that I've got in storage. Worked well on my 05 WRX (cockeye GDA), tuned by Mok. If you're keen, I can dig it up. If it works (you can take and test), I can let it go cheap. If you try no workey, just return me the unit at my home, no harm no foul. PM me if keen.

run cams and aftermarket ecu .

hydra is a good unit ,mok is a good tuner.wont go wrong with it.you will be surprised how much more potential it will unlock.

anyway torque figure does seem off.

is yours a standalone or piggy?

but for these kind of "rare" brands, i need a tuner.

unlike unichip or ecutek where almost all tuners can do.

hydra is standalone. and hydra got tuner here in sg. its quite popular among the subaru owners with extensive setups. you can google or check with BKS for mok's contact.

many went for the reflash or piggy back route is not becos they were better.but mostly due to price issues.hydra ems should be in the mid range standalone league.comparable

to the autronic.

and since you have a budget of up to 3k.go for a used unit of standalone.with installation ,dyno tune and price of the used unit itself.you should still have some spares for a good

decent meal after that.

Hydra is a full replacement ECU (standalone).

Your mileage may vary, but based on my own experience, I would strongly advise against Unichip.

Let me see if I can find it first. Basically, it's just stored in a dry box after my demod years ago. Will quote you once I have it, and can get the model, etc.

From my experience I would give the unichip a miss. There are issues. I went standalone and was very pleased 4 yrs down the road car is problem free less wear and tear. ( pls not its road legal car )

No idea about about the ecu tec though sorry.

Sorry no personal experience with it.

Who is this fellow? If u want someone reliable, pm me.

When I had my GC8 JDM 280Ps, I used Apexi Power FC. Full replacement.

There are many options for GC8. Possum link was one but the Possum is dead so no support.

Autronic, Motec etc. Your power seems to be on the low side.
