anyone kenah b4 ?

my colleague paid almost $4k for his wedding shoot ( whole day, incl. gown)

however, last week when he collected his photos, he was told that the pics for his tea ceremony was not able to be processed.

so what recourse can he seek from the photoshoot company ?

Maybe his SD card corrupted... Happened to my camera before. But there's some software may be able to retrieve partial pictures.

One word, SUAY!

even if they offer 50% off the bill, you won't get the picture of the moment! [:(] but lucky tea ceremony not that important to some people.

either its really corrupted. or the photographer pressed format after inserting what he thought was a blank CF/SD card.

memory card so easily corrupted de meh??

actually to play safe, if im the bridal studio, i will add in NEW SD CARD cost into the wedding package and use new SD card for every couple.

wouldnt that be more safe?

alternatively, new couples can choose to ask photographer to use their new memory card if they heard of such cases and want to play safe.

reasons why memory card get corrupted lol

For pro, the SD card usuage too high, too many write cycles.. higher risk failure. They should have some kind of audit for pro, like their SD card can only used for, say 20 photoshoot, then have to change new ones.

Got to read up the contract and see any compensation and stuff like that. I agreed with one of the bros here, the precious moment cannot be captured back.

colleague just met with the photgrapher over the weekend .... apparently, the photographer is a subcon who got $880 .... so my colleague was refunded half the photographer subcon fees ... $440 and got a 12" photobook along with it.

so coincidental that another colleague of mine also had his home reno contract defaulted on ... end up the reno contractor had to put his family up in two hotel rooms for a week ... almost $4.5k !! and his reno package was abt $25k.

Unlucky.. but I would kick a fuss about the tea ceremony photos... to a certain extend to certain family members, it may be important.

I doubt I would even agree to refund of only half of the $800.
