Malaysia just cannot put off and asking Singapore to do the right thing. I would be very unhappy if our government really agrees to "do the right thing" as we the citizens has paid for the HSR. Let say hypothetically our gov agrees to "the right thing". They are surely going to get whacked big time. This will surely be a talking point during the next election. In Sg, it's always NATO. If not this keep dragging end up these land that is planned to build HSR can't do anything. Worst is if it continue and start constructing already then few yrs down the road change new PM and then another set of pattern come like the above article. Then how? It would affect us too as supposing a clean exit early, these land can be put in drawing board to replan early and then these land will be put to good use, instead of few years down the road and still led to nowhere and lose more money earning opportunity. I agreed more w your view ... I doubt it is in DrM interest to drag on ... he got more important to settle internally and he is running out of time . Imagine if let's say this car rental company rent a car to this person B. This person B sign contract for 1 year with early termination clause. Then maybe he drive grab for 2 months kanna suspended for whatever reasons and suddenly no income and unable to pay off the car rental. Person B did not pay the car rental for a few weeks already and also did not wrote official letter to this car rental company to terminate the contract and pay the penalties. What will car rental company do? They will send tow truck to tow the car and recover whatever they have right? This is to cut losses to minimum right? So the above logic does not apply to hsr project? So sg side don't want to cut losses and continue to run on expenses at the expense of taxpayers money? Malaysia, as a country, has not officially informed us about the termination of the contract, and has been procastinating. Its only a representative that mentioned it with various back-peddling. Which version is the one they want? Postponement? Cancellation? Revision? Its again the grey kampong style management Mahathir learnt from the Tunku. Are you able to share with absolute certainty what TDM wants with regards to the future of HSR? Our Neighbour up north is asking for a favour, and LHL already went up during his coronation to want to talk about HSR that was mentioned to cancel, but TDM taichied away, saying he is very busy, and indeed he is. Yet he kept harping on it every other week.
