Qoros is a China brand and the 1st brand to sell worldwide by 2014

But will it stand against the Competitor like the BMW?

It's named as 3 Sedan after Audi sued them for using the 'Q' name , GQ3

Qoros is a Chinese Israelise joint venture, & the designer is ex Mini Chef designer, a German, which explain the European look. I heard the development team is situated in Austria.

This is what the Chinese, & in a way also the Koreans are able to do, provide capital (& labor force), & tapping talent from all over the world, instead of relaying heavily on home grown.

Yes, it looks great, & I have seen in in magazine already. Shall see how it compares. But for sure its better looking already than most Japanese cars out there already.

So far the best quality chinese brand I had ride in China are Roewe, with nice desgin interior and exterior and with reasonable build quality.

But, but we all know Roewe formally is Rover.

Besides build quality and materials, one have to consider the BHP & F/C.

Likely, 1.6cc 90BHP, 8km/l.

That is if you assume the Locals design the engine. Some of the China Automaker are big (thanks to its big domestic market), so they can hired the best people from other countries to design their engine.

Money get you a lot of things....like people, cannot deny that. For a big auto company, R&D budget are low by % when compare to the ability to use many low cost labors & locations.

Otherwise, they can always buy a ready made engines from another manufacturer.

You also think automaker make their own components? Most things are bought from automotive suppliers.

drive train, geearstrain, even the whole cockpit can be bought as one unit. They just have to ship to the factory, & the factory workers assemble them. Think of it like a DIY PC.

ESP, ABS, all are supplied by automotive suppliers, like Bosch, Denso, Continental. What they do is to set the specification. Of course testing have to be done by automaker, which could be the differences.

People complain about high cost of cars like BMW & Porsche, but there are a lot of R&D & testing done by them, in various conditions, from the Frozen North to the Sahara heat. maybe they do not test enough in tropical conditon LOL, but trust me, their standards are much higher than typical B&B.

if you then ask, then whats stopping others to make the same high standard, the answer is of course cost! Cars cost what they are for a reason. But of course cannot apply to Singapore due to our cost cost models like COEs.

I should know, I have work in R&D Automotive supplier for 5 years or so.
