Somehow the VSC(traction control) sensor is linked to the CEL. So if one of them got detect a fault both will light up. I dunno why. But CEL lights up means it has detected a fault. What fault, you will have to use a OBD II scanner to find out. If you dun have one you may approach a workshop to have it checked out.

Have it check, never disregard the check light

Heavy downpour = water ingress

If possible, sun it in the open carpark.

Very hard fr water to enter ecu.

Maybe water in vsc sensor on each wheel. If u drive n it heat up n water dry up it sud go back to normal but if it kenna heavy rain or flood again....it wil trigger warning light again.

U sud get ws to chk n change sensor or if u can diy wh silicon to seal e leak.

I am driving a 2006 GS300 and had this problem for a few times already. If you search some of the online LEXUS forums, the cause may vary from as simple as a loose fuel filler cap to a loose air hose in the engine compartment.

The effects are not great, but you lose the VSC and also the slope autohold functions when the warning lights are on.

For me, I simply disconnected the battery for a while to reset the failure codes and it was okay afterwards. Try to check your fuel filler cap for proper security whenever you refuel.

Agree, water not possible to enter VSC ECU. It's located inside cabin area and it's sealed.
