Teewhy 1st Gear December 2, 2018 Share December 2, 2018 I had the 18" Leggeras, 8JJ. Weight around mid 8kg. 17" should be closer to low 8s I guess. Either 7.5 or 8 will fit 225 tyres. For a more sporty look, go with 8 so that the tyres doesn't get the "muffin" bulge. FC is all relative. Increasing a size up won't affect much one. ET is the offset of the rim. How far it gets pushed out. I'd go with 17x8 with 225 tyres. Thank you very much for your advise! Will share a photo tomorrow after I've changed it. I don't understand the Weight (KG) portion though. ↡ Advertisement

Teewhy 1st Gear December 3, 2018 Share December 3, 2018 I would advice 17x 7.5 for 225 width tyresWould like to know, why 7.5jj instead of 8?
Beregond Supersonic December 3, 2018 Share December 3, 2018 Would like to know, why 7.5jj instead of 8? Not say cannot 0.5' different only. U divide into 2 . 1 side of the rims only 1/4 ' different. i feel 7.5 width will look nicer on most 225 tyres. ( personal experience )

Theoldjaffa Hypersonic December 4, 2018 Share December 4, 2018 (edited) Ya it's a matter of personal preference whether you like it "Touring" or "Sports" 17x7.5 on 225 - it's got a bit of a "muffin top" 18x8 on 225 - more tapered to the top Edited December 4, 2018 by Theoldjaffa

Ronkovic 5th Gear December 14, 2018 Share December 14, 2018 What tyre pressure do y'all recommend to pump for 225/50 R17 tyres? I suppose you'd be OK at around 32 to 36 psi? Can't remember what that is in Kpa tho' although the Air Pump at the petrol station would allow you to toggle between both.
KimHwee 1st Gear December 14, 2018 Share December 14, 2018 What tyre pressure do y'all recommend to pump for 225/50 R17 tyres? Usually do 230 kPa for 215/50/R17. Not sure if there is a big difference for 225/50/R17. Also understand that there is a recommended tyre pressure for each car. You might want to check that first and adjust from there to your liking.
