Neutral Newbie

Not too shabby performance-wise?

"The new Kia Forte Koup EX is equipped with a new direct-injection, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine generating 173 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 154 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,700 rpm. A 6-speed automatic transmission is standard, as well as sport suspension tuning and FlexSteer electric steering with three driver-selected settings including Comfort, Normal, and Sport.

The Forte Koup SX is powered by a turbocharged, direct-injection, 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine generating 201 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 195 lb.-ft. of torque between 1,750 rpm and 4,500 rpm. This engine is equipped with a standard 6-speed manual transmission, with an automatic also available. Choose the automatic, and the Forte Koup SX gets a set of paddle shifters for manual control of gear changes." - http://autos.jdpower.com/content/new-car-p...oup-preview.htm

Decent engine, but this time the looks not so swee leh...

Agreed. Especially the 1.6L model, good for our COE system. Smaller engine but more powerpul.

The looks is not so impressive though.

The design like a base model rather than looking remotely sporty.

Agree, not more sporty than the previous version.

Anyway, dealers have 'stopped' bringing in new models. From Toyota small MPV to Kia Caren, all announced but no sign of them. Only the conti are bringing in their fuller range of cars. Guess it is easier to manage inventories with lesser models, just continue to feed the locals w/ Corolla and CIvic.

The new design not as nice and sporty as the current design.

Totally agree. Too rounded, not muscular. Inside dashboard not nice also :(

No point bringing in new models, esp during the current high/unstable coe. Dont think the car will sell well.

Last time when COE high ppl say BB car not worth buying. Now that COE not-so-high and there is additional ARF for OMV above $20k maybe BB cars got better chance?

Buyer behavior really hard to predict.

Maybe coe has to drop until around $30K range then B&B cars will be popular again. :D Right now people still fancy conti cars.
