To you, what is considered as an upgrade of vehicle? I used to think from a price point, so long my next vehicle is more expensive, that means upgrade. Apparently to some, the CC plays a part as well.

Examples:

Price Point - Last time buy the car 40k. Now gg change to new car which costs 60k. Rgdless of first or second hand.

Performance - Last time drive Honda Accord 90k. Now gg change to copen 60k. Presuming copen performance is better la

Car Capacity - From an altis change to Jag XJ...suddenly 5000cc...upgrade?

Brand - From Accord to vw scirocco...upgrade?

Just for discussion...in office zho bo

Supersonic

Upgrade of car? When you buy something more expensive or bigger than the current ride?! [rolleyes] Example like currently driving a 1.6L car, then you change to a 2.0L car?!

Turbocharged

price is an upgrade?

consider new civic vs 1-yr old c-class..both 1.6 liter, civic pricier due to coe skyrocked.

imo price is skewed in sg context..

If you use price as benchmark...let me give you this very real example...

2007 you bought a WRX for 86K

2012 you bought a Altis for 120K...

Upgrade ?? [:p] [:p]

If COE stays stable ok lah...but with our COE machem like roller coaster...price as benchmark can go outta the window.

UNLESS...you use OMV as benchmark.

For me it's everything. The price, performance, brand prestige, comfort and luxury are considerations. That said my priorities have changed over the years.

I was more concern about performance last time. But lately I put comfort and luxury higher up the list, due to my car being used more for family purpose than last time, where it was 80% for work.

sure performance...1.6 is really insufficient in sg...most of the time being bullied by taxi...they just cut into my lane without signal...super irritating... at least 2.0 above...sure smoke most of the taxis...
