Saw this on TODAY asking for our views. I wish to post my view but post here first to see what you all think.

 

What I think (not sure if this has been thought of before...) -

1. The amount of COE tied to a car purchase should be based on the number of family members registered to this car (must be direct family members).

2. The more family members are registered under this car purchase, the lesser COE you pay.

3. The names of these family members registered to this car cannot appear under another car registration.

4. Should any of these family members wish to purchase another car, they must remove their name from this list, subjected to a fee.

 

So lets say the base COE price for example is $50,0000. If there are 2 person registered under this car you pay $40,000 COE, if there are 3 people registered under this car you pay $30,000, 4 people $20,000...and so on

 

In this way,

1. It is pro family.

2. It deters one family from owning more than one car.

 

What do you all think of this idea?
