Did anyone manage to get their hands on Plastidip? I've been looking around and can't find anyone selling it in Singapore!

I contacted the Facebook site, but no response from them.

I dont suppose wrapping is possible for complicated looking grills like Jag XF and XJ type?

That will be impossible. Try plastidip instead.

Dear Guys,

Im considering setup a spray garage doing Plastidip, care to share your comfortable price for a full car spray. For market research.

Just wondering ... dries to a rubber like texture. I guess we can add the 'gloss' spray as well but how does it actually look ? Anyway, I might go get some to try for some home stuff ... if really that easy to DIY, maybe. Instead of buying door guards, any not spray nicely a little at the side ? Maybe I sound like an id**t but has anyone tried using it to protect the usual area that gets the most contact ?

Neutral Newbie

If using aerosol spray should be safer to spray 4 or more thin layers. Prep work shld reduce the post cleaning. But i saw vids they juz rub it off. I saw sghardwarelink.com offering basic guidance to how you can use it. Looks interesting.

Got some cans, found some time and lazily tried on my old Honda badge.

1st coat, was told to be generous.

2. After 2 more coats, 2 short sprays metalizer, 2 short sprays glossifier (8 mins in between)

3. After 20 mins

Looks better in real life but I was surprised that it was so easy, I didn't really try very hard.

A little tacky still, will go heavier on glossifier to see if it smoothens.

Finally, smoke ... ehh... not so nice.

Final post to share with like minded bros that its really easy to use.

Residue (after its removed), feels like thin plastic.

Impact on the emblem itself (none)

post-2619-0-90279100-1428822468_thumb.jpg

Re-spray new colour, when wet, looks very uneven.

After just 3 coats, metalizer & glossifier.

Hint :

Light colours, your emblems flaws are visible up close.

Use white base before starting on colour of your choice (I didn't but I can imagine the impact would be a brighter and even colour).

Min. 4 coat before enhancers.

Next week, I will do the emblems on my new car. Ciao

Bought one can recently at Mustafa centre

around $20 plus (not cheap)

Quite fun to use, easily reversible (peel off effortlessly)

can be useful for temporary protection eg front bonnet (for NS highway driving)

Tried - Sprayed on some small plastic parts, ok with the outcome
