Editorial in today's ST about the GRC system - compares the validity of GRC to SMC

 

This is NOT to talk about the GRC system per se - but rather, ask the question - why must we stick to First Past the Post at all?

 

Is there another fairer / better / more equitable / more efficient voting method that will achieve the same (or even better) results?

 

If we are looking at the voting system - does it need to be restricted to a discussion of GRC vs SMC at all. Can it also include a discussion of First Past the Post (FPP) "winner take all" vs some form of Proportional Representation?
