hmmmmm..... like most of us here, we reach airport 2 1/2hrs early to check-in. [sunny]

Now with the Jewel, check-in 4 hrs early ..... [laugh][laugh]

Crap.

So sad.

Life of Singaporean.

What to do? SG has no super tourist magnets - like Great Wall of China, Niagara Falls, Mountain Peaks, etc...

So this Jewel suppose the dazzle travellers here. Can it do that? Not sure.

Can CapitalLand make money from the shop spaces? also not sure.

Will someone drive from Jurong to there just to shop or makan. not sure. haha

At least land cheaper so build at changi can build big2. Their target market should be travellers, people who stay in east or central, think this project though great but ROI still not sure yet le

Would a MBS style swimming pool there be a good idea?

Those scandinavian, russian 'polar bears' will surely like the sun & swim.

Sounds good!!!

And such polar bears (female ones, at least), will attract travellers from S Asia to crowd around n stare, making the Jewel a very vibrant place!!!

This project Jewel really sad case lor .... why no Singaporean designers or architects are good enough to come up with something? We have to resort to using a foreign design? Singaporean architect standard that bad ... they cannot come up with a design that is truly uniquely Singapore?

You mean the passengers stranded inside the skytrain for an hour? How come no one came to open the emergency door?

with 6.9m or 10m... there needs to be places for them to spend marnie..

and sgp got nothing but malls. capitaland want to earn to earn marnie lor..

and also HDB must build smaller and smaller so stay home very trapped like that need to go out.

use whose marnie to build jewel I don't know.. but airport land is definitely gahment sponsored land.. i.e. tax marnie.

Looks like SG will be a little more expensive place in coming years......

Now I have reservation on those mega projects.

Seems to look good but fell into bad light soon after.

MRT need no more introduction

Sportshub recently came into bad light with the

1) Lousy stadium pitch

2) Indoor stadium have dancing lights during Sharapova and Wozniacki match and telecast live worldwide on Tuesday

3) Indoor stadium roof leak on Wednsday

JEM also need no introduction

Now Skytrain get grounded too

Add Casino No 3 in Jewel, so those visitors who lose their pants still can catch their flight back home without incurring any more taxi fare! No need to jump from MBS. Like that sure guarantee ROI very high and the 1.47B will be recouped in 2 years.

Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore

"Jewel" of Cruise Travel......

This was Apr 2014 news, wonder whether it has been sorted out.

Those planners are a bit disappointing.

Traffic on the roads around the Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore (MBCCS) came to a standstill last Thursday when two large cruise ships docked at the passenger seaport on the same morning. Between them, the luxury liner Queen Mary II of the Cunard Cruise Line and Voyager of the Seas, operated by Royal Caribbean International, can take more than 5,000 passengers. It created a bottleneck of vehicles arriving and going. Though Thursday's incident was especially protracted, traffic congestion is one of a string of problems to plague MBCCS since it began operations in May 2012. Passengers have complained about long waits at the immigration checkpoints, and for taxis. - See more at: http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/transport/story/marina-bay-cruise-centre-plagued-gridlock-due-swell-passengers-when-s#sthash.maCwhNiu.dpuf

We need some master planners - able to plan land/road infrastructure based on the upcoming mega projects ... able to estimate the crowds and then make adjustment to cater to the nos.

So obviously, we are lacking as can be seen in MBCCS case...

Hope the road conditions are better now
