Hi...

I am not too sure if this is the best place to post this. But I guess it should not be too complicated.

I am deciding to make a purchase for a new car soon and I just shortlisted both Mazda 3 2014 and this Altis 2014.

Honestly M3 looks so much better, with the well equipped interior.

Altis is not all that bad with a brand new look and spacious interior, very much a mini Camry. And furthermore we are also talking Toyota here.

So I am very much in a dilema here.

BM is offering the following

5 yrs warranty

COE rebate $65,000

Expected OMV ard $18,000

CEV Rebate @ $5,000

Expected Net Price $132,000

M3 based on early bird scheme would be

3 yrs warranty

COE rebate $60,000

Expected OMV ard $18,000

CEV (est) $10,000

Expected Net Price $132,000

Seriously, can anyone advice which car would be a better deal?

I would scrapping my current ride in Mar... so I am pretty open to any advice.

Both are good, pick the one you and wife like if she has say in car buying....

Both cars are too new that's why there's a high premium vs comparable cars like sylphy, k3. I like mazda but if I need to pay 132k for a 3, I would top up just abit more for a 6.

Wait till Feb 14, 1st bidding COE result to see what's the COE trend for CAT A, if it does drop, good for you. If it didn't drop, then can go ahead signed on dotted line. Anyway, CNY will be over by then car buying momentum should taper a little

If you want to keep the car another 10 years,

go for 3, MIJ, reliability is top option

Altis also good, but MIT, normally after 5 years, problems come

I disagree that MIT means will have problem. I'm driving a 05 Altis MIT (mileage 160K) and there has been no major problems. Only wear and tear related issues.

Neutral Newbie

I went to see the new M3 just yesterday and walked away impressed with the equipment level.

The better version has:

1. keyless entry

2. start / stop button

3. large lcd screen with gps

4. electric seat for driver

5. heads up display

6. bluetooth telephony

7. electric sunroof

8. cruise control

(made in Japan)

all going for launch price of $129k.

a good deal compared to Toyota $132k.

In the thread which posted Maz3 comp as 14.0, figures were 120ps/150nm.

As i heard that for Sin model comp is reduce to 13.0, was wondering would that reduce the above spec? Say becomes 115ps & 145nm?

If you ever been to BKK, almost all the taxi there are Altis, from firs Gen till now, they are all still running strong. BKK have one of the worst taxi drivers that really bash their cars.

MIT not an issue, if the car has problem, any car also can happen. Anyway, like many people say, you never goes wrong buying a toyota car, regardless it is MIT or MIJ.

Reliability isnt the issue regardless where its made; but will you want to be bored shxtless? And the blatant lack of proper safety equipment. So few Jap makes here provide ESP/ VSC or even more airbags than the obligatory 2.

MIT is ok la

my honda accord 4 yrs already...no issue. just normal oil change only

technology & parts all came from Jap, just assemabled in Thai factory by thai people,

suppose quality shld be same as in Jap, initailly the major problem is language barrier btw thai and Jap, "duck and chicken talking [:p] ", so the quality cannot compare with MIJ,

hopefully after decade running in, should not be problem now
