A woman and a toddler were injured in an accident involving a blue Honda and a taxi early Saturday morning, at the junction of Tagore Drive and Upper Thomson Road.

Police received a call for help at 7.21am. Photos sent by a reader showed that the car had flipped over onto the road divider.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it sent two people to KK Women's and Children's Hospital. One is a woman in her 30s who complained of back pain, while the other is a boy around two years old, who had redness to the cheek. The taxi driver was unhurt.
The police said investigations are ongoing.

Think the boy condition is minor because only reported redness to the check. Most likely secured in child seat, but the flipping could have cause some stuff to hit the cheeks.

Lucky the car did not hit any of the trees [sweatdrop]

Don't gauge that way.. My bill ever involved in an accident with my niece and nephew on board.. I rush down to help, can see nephew face got blood, blood from hand cut actually but niece no external injury.. Looks Ok externally but wrong, when she was at kk for check up, notice she gets weaker and after a few check, actually got internal injury..

Honda again?.. Hate to say this But looks like insurance premium for Honda is going up this year for sure...

Its the branding, usually doesnt attract uncle Sunny/Altis & Auntie Volvo types.

Some vehicles tend to turn out abruptly from Tagore while oncoming vehicles tend to speed along that long stretch.

Hope child and mother recovers well.

Yep, that part till just before chong pang is a hot pedal metal area. Also many understand that early morning safe to loot as road blocks usually stop by 5am or 6am.

Thats why I see something that I always cant figure out. parent put the young kid at front seat. Parent also ensure the kid in the front seat seat is in child seat. But the front seat passenger side have airbag.....

And impact from airbag to child below 12yrs can cause chest injuries, broken ribs or even death. I actually peep into some of these cars when parked. I see SRS airbag.

Problem with vtech kicks in

But from pic, not red badge leh. If its the normal vtec, its like the toyota vvti ( thinks it engages at 3300rpm), the lift is not that abrupt & high. Unlike the Type R's High lift cam which kick in at 5300rpm.

Your comments about putting children in child seats on the front passenger's space and the airbag activating are good points for parents to consider.

Do you know some cars can off the front pax airbags?

I heard some cars are more advance, they have weight sensors.

If weight is too low (for example infant + child seat), the airbag wouldn't deploy during accident.

I agree on this. ya on a couple of kapoh occasions, i did see the switch at the side, but the fear is the consistancy in toggling when its child & wife. The other thing is that (females wont feel flattered to hear..) the front passenger seat is known by the lao zhek community as the seat of death. Becoz, upon being aware of an impending impact, driver will instinctively try to save own skin 1st by getting himself off the line of most direct impact. Quite often this may mean the front passenger area rams hardest.
