Gitanic 6th Gear February 20, 2014 Share February 20, 2014 I dont know what to say?! The girl should have stop and look before dashing out of the road, but she did not. not agreeable . as it's the same reasoning as one would expect someone to dash out in front of a bus stopped in bus-stop. not sure you should be expecting not take for granted. actually it's a daily occurrence in bus-stops. ↡ Advertisement
13177 Supersonic February 20, 2014 Share February 20, 2014 Expecting is one thing la, even the driver drives slowly, if anyone would just like this dash out of nowhere, how to stop? Pedestrain should also responsible for their own safety, and at least look before dash out of a road.

Rezorn86 3rd Gear February 20, 2014 Share February 20, 2014 (edited) it is hard to brake for any driver over here. but I do feel that maybe lta can fence on school area & bulid a overhead bridge, at least it can minimize accident rate. Ender Hypersonic February 20, 2014 Share February 20, 2014 In the absence of traffic light, everyone need to practice safe crossing. I see even adults do that when they chase after a bus. Suddenly catching up with the bus becomes uptmost priority, at the expense of safety.

Dinosaka 1st Gear February 20, 2014 Share February 20, 2014 Heard from a close fren who knew the girls family that the girl is recovering now at home. She's ok. Now she's learnt her lesson well n lived to tell...
Gitanic 6th Gear February 20, 2014 Share February 20, 2014 Please la, who drive at 5km/h?? with my limited vocab really difficult to explain. one would not expect a kid(which you cannot see here clearly) to dash across at 60km/h. how fast can a kid run one would know subconsciously ,need not measure. just travel slower than that pace and if she run out you already can see beforehand and stopped. prob need a Physics student to explain. if that was adult no doubt you could see. the speed here was just an illustration. Jellandross Supersonic February 20, 2014 Author Share February 20, 2014 (edited) Heard from a close fren who knew the girls family that the girl is recovering now at home. She's ok. Now she's learnt her lesson well n lived to tell... that's good to hear. actually this may be a positive thing (not sure if its the right word but you know what i mean) because i'm sure this event will change her view and behavior about road safety forever. imagine if nothing happened and she were to grow up with the same careless way (like many adults i encounter on the road everyday), she may encounter a worse fate of lost limbs and life. i guess i'm trying to say that it's "fortunate" to learn a painful lesson earlier in life that will "save" me from a catastrophic lesson later in life. Kingkong 5th Gear February 20, 2014 Share February 20, 2014 So in this case driver still kanna jialat from law even though his only fault was being there at that time? Guess as long as he can prove the barrier DID obstruct his view, he should be ok lei. Only trouble the driver has is the cab needs to send in for repair, for whatever damage there is... Brobear 2nd Gear February 20, 2014 Share February 20, 2014 Impossible to react. Blind spot for both driver and also the little girl. Hopefully she is fine.
Greyminswift 1st Gear February 20, 2014 Share February 20, 2014 We must also remember that the camera is located closer to the windscreen and that the footage is from the angle of the camera. The driver is seated further back and its possible that even when the camera captured the "shadow" of the girl as Gitanic suggests, the driver's view may have been blocked by his car's A-pillar.
Carnoob Supercharged February 20, 2014 Share February 20, 2014 I think it is not about who is right or wrong. We are toking abt a life here... Yes the cab driver may not be wrong but he will regret for the rest of his life if something bad happens to the kid... How can we avoid this? the minimum speed is still 50km/hr, no kid can run 50km/hr and dun forget you are on the right lane. Travel slow on right lane, and may end up with driver like Mr 'KIM' who chased down the mother with kid on board. Anywy, we have to anticipate every possible scenario on the road... Drive safe everyone, as I mentioned earlier for me I will not be able to stop in time because the line of sight is blocked.
